dine at Radisson Austin
We love this choice for dinner before a show because it’s downtown, overlooks Lady Bird Lake and you can valet for just $6. On the corner of Cesar Chavez & Congress, pull up, valet and walk right into dine. We love the sleek design, wood floors and overall ambiance of dine—just the right amount of hip & posh.
David Garrido has been on the Texas restaurant scene for years. He has designed this delicious menu with Mario Medina.
Start with a glass of Cabernet, Sangiovese or Tempranillo for the adults and mocktails for the kids. The bar (which has a delightful lounge area overlooking the lake), can mix up just about anything.
Enjoy a starter of their unique salmon ceviche tacos, small crispy tacos with just the right amount of kick. Another tasty starter are their pork belly sliders or the specialty, crispy oysters. They will turn any non-oyster eater into a believer!
Munching on the oh-so-fresh guacamole with homemade crispy chips is a great way to keep the meal going, too.
You can’t go wrong with a big plate of pumpkin risotto, salmon or striped bass. However, the roasted chicken entrée was the crowd favorite at our table.
We recommend pairing these dishes with either the grilled broccolini or Brussels sprouts (some of the best I’ve ever tasted!)
We had to run out to get to the show, but wish we had time to try one of their tempting desserts. We’ll let the pic speak for itself!
Dancing with the Stars Live- Bass Concert Hall, Austin TX
Power, strength, passion and skills- those words immediately come to mind watching this non-stop show. The audience is enthralled, watching these muscular, talented dancers glide across the stage, number after number. With too many dances to count, multiple stage changes and gorgeous costumes, they did a great job of showcasing the range of dances the show is known for, and letting the audience get to know the professional dancers. The song choice was spot-on, moving the audience to dance in their seats.
One thing you get in the live show that can’t come through the TV screen watching the hit reality show is the playful interaction the dancing cast has with the audience.
Some of our favorite segments were the Hollywood movie segment and the traveling through the world segment (showcasing various dances that highlight a specific country, such as the samba from Cuba.)
The cast of professional dancers made it very entertaining with great music, intense dances and beautiful choreography.
Another great show put on by Texas Performing Arts at Bass Concert Hall.
