Meet Our Staff
Julie Tereshchuk took a leap off a cliff in 2002, landed intact, and has gone on to become an award-winning writer and editor. Prior to becoming a professional wordsmith, and after relocating to the USA in 1990, Julie had a successful sales career with a Canadian software and technology services company. The UK native worked as a project planner in the manufacturing industry before her transatlantic move.
Julie is a graduate of the University of Bradford, with a degree in European Studies (German/Economics), and attended the University of Hamburg during her junior year.
She resides in downtown Austin, Texas and enjoys maintaining close ties with friends and family in England, Scotland and Ukraine.
Marika Flatt, Travel Editor, launched her magazine writing career in 2002, combining her love of travel, journalism, media and public relations. Marika has been travel writing non-stop since then and feels that part of her success in delivering an enticing travel feature is because her “day job” is running a literary PR agency, PR by the Book. A cum laude graduate of Texas A&M University, she lives in Austin with her husband, Doug, co-publisher of TLM and three kids—who also love to travel. She can also be heard on the statewide NPR show "Texas Standard" offering Weekend Trip Tips.
Doug Flatt is new to publishing, but no stranger to small business. Flatt has been growing and scaling small businesses for over 15 years.
Doug has a degree in Marketing from Texas A&M University. He and his wife, Marika, have three children. In his free time, he enjoys a round of golf, mountain biking and spending time with his kids.
