Back on My Feet Austin, a local nonprofit, will host a Benefit Concert on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 7PM at Javelina on Rainey Street. Three local bands will join forces to raise awareness and money for the organization that uses running to empower the homeless to get off the streets. The city of Austin has established itself as the live music capital of the world, in addition to being a city that prides itself on supporting the local community. The Back on My Feet Concert Benefit is the perfect example of how members of the Austin community are using music to bring light to the Back on My Feet, a national nonprofit operating in 11 cities coast-to-coast, combats homelessness through the power of running, community support and essential employment and housing resources. Three local Austin bands, A/b (formerly Chipper Jones), Food Group, and singer-songwriter Stacey Lee will come together at Javelina, who has also donated their venue, to perform a live show to drive awareness to the fact that there are over 2,000 people experiencing homelessness in Austin.

“Back on My Feet Austin is thrilled to band together with A/b, Food Group and Stacy Lee to bring our fellow Austinites an evening of live music that will help strengthen this great community. “We are beyond thrilled to have been invited to such a positive mission. The folks at Back on My Feet Austin are inspiring true change within individuals, and are doing so by exposing to them their own strength within by means of running; an activity with healing qualities far too often forgotten. As musicians, we strive to inspire and encourage others to overcome their obstacles, as does this outstanding organization, and we look forward to helping raise awareness and support for such a beautiful cause,” said James Lambrecht, Guitarist for the band A/b.
