It’s a boo-tiful time of year with Halloween and Day of the Dead making for what many in Texas regard as an unofficial two-or-more-day holiday. Spooky but true, we’ve rounded up a fang-tastic collection of events, bites and sips to help you scare-labrate in style!

Halloween Yappy Hour, Austin: Tito’s and Baker Street Pub (3003 S Lamar Blvd) are partnering on October 28 in an event benefitting Sato Project, dedicated to rescuing abandoned and abused dogs from Puerto Rico. Stop by between 2pm-5pm to enjoy giveaways for costumed dogs; pet trick-or-treat bags plus a dog food truck from Poochie Trends Pet Boutique and Bakery; and yummy drinks like Greyhounds and Bloody Mary’s that directly benefit Sato Project.

Ah Sing Den, Austin: Celebrate Halloween, tiki style! Ah Sing Den will celebrate October 31 by kicking off Tiki Tuesdays, a weekly event featuring $6 classic cocktails, Mai Tais and daiquiris and creative tiki cocktails. For $24, any cocktail can be made into a Flaming Volcano Bowl, perfect for sharing!

Mexic-Arte’s Viva La Vida, Austin: On October 28, Mexic-Arte Museum is host to Austin’s largest and longest-running Dia de Los Muertos celebration which yet again brings a spectacular parade and street festival to downtown Austin.

Quiet Clubbing Halloween Party, Austin: They were the silent disco darlings of ACL and now they’re back, holding it down with a pre-Halloween party October 27th from 10pm-2am at Old School Bar & Grill in the heart of 6th Street. Expect hundreds of party-goers decked out in their Halloween hotness singing, dancing, and drinking with 3 DJs battling for your attention all-night long.

Fall-O-Ween Foodie Fest, Dallas: Sink your teeth into The Foodie Experience Fall-O-Ween Fest October 27 and October 28 and hobnob with Dallas’ ghosts of the past at the newly refurbished, historic Longhorn Ballroom. Halloween revelers 21 and older can come as they are or don their favorite costume and enjoy all-inclusive food and beverages, live entertainment and a silent auction benefitting North Texas Food Bank.

Saints and Sinners Tour, Fort Worth: From October 27-29, the North Fort Worth Historical Society will treat guests to the 12th annual Saints and Sinners’ Tour. Actors dressed in period clothing will lead guests on walking and twilight tours to headstones of Fort Worth’s past “saints and sinners” throughout Oakwood Cemetery.

Haunt in Fort Worth: From now until November 26th, haunted house lovers will be treated to a spooky exhibition at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Thirteen themed haunted houses from across America make up the 40+ images in photographer Misty Keasler’s display. In addition to the photographs, the exhibition includes a separate series of 15 portraits of haunted house actors in monster costumes. With art meeting horror, guests better come prepared to be spooked.

Boo at the Zoo in Fort Worth: Carve out the last week of October to explore Fort Worth Zoo with your young ghouls and goblins at the annual Boo at the Zoo celebration. Free with park admission, families will be treated to candy stations, carnival games, animal shows, a dance party, and more! Kids are encouraged to wear a costume and enjoy an unforgettable day at the zoo.

Night of the Living Dead, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston: The godfather of all zombie movies will be shown October 27-29 in a restored print, scanned from the original camera negative. This landmark of the modern horror film has gained a huge cult following.

Psycho Music, Houston Symphony: Scream along with this Hitchcock masterpiece, including Janet Leigh’s infamous shower scene, at Jones Hall Friday, October 27 as the Houston Symphony performs Bernard Herrmann’s iconic, bone-chilling score to Psycho.

Bootanica, San Antonio Botanical Garden: Following the garden’s recent grand reopening, celebrate the fall season at the family-friendly Bootanica. Activities include the Scarecrow Trail, fun activities from the Bat Conservation Society and—of course—a costume parade.
