The male engagement ring or, as it’s been called, the ‘man-gagement ring’ is a concept that was once just wishful thinking for many but has now become a reality due in part to tradition-spinning millennials who want to express their partnership. Men want engagement rings, too!
Both men and women alike are purchasing engagement rings to give to their significant other as an outward symbol of their love and commitment. It was after singer Ed Sheeran became engaged and was seen sporting a band on his left hand that the trend was reignited. The proof is in recent reports claiming that male engagement rings have become a trending online search, rising 66% from last year.
Many women are looking for rings to give their guy after he pops the question, and men are behind the movement as well with many citing that it shouldn’t just be women wearing rings to show their relationship status. Interestingly enough, this is not a completely new concept, as the male engagement ring was once a trend in 2011. Back then, and even now, it is a sweet gesture indeed.
Whether you’re in love with the movement or unsure if it’s for you, wear your symbol of love as an engagement ring, a wedding band or just because – the choice is yours.
Whatever you decide on, be sure it reflects you or your partner’s style and personality. Also remember, it’s never a bad idea to browse and shop for rings as a couple to give each other ideas of what you’re both wanting in a ring.
