For the epitome of arts, fashion, dining, and sophistication, welcome to Dallas Arts District. Pre-COVID, this newly developed part of downtown Dallas was the place to see and be seen.
Whether catching a Broadway show at the $354 million AT&T Performing Arts Center or sightseeing the beautiful oasis lining Klyde Warren Park, the architecture and art in this epicenter of Dallas live up to the Big D name. Among the great gems in modern art, design and hospitality is HALL Arts Hotel.
HALL Arts Hotel is the first hotel in the Dallas Arts District, the largest contiguous arts district in the country. The hotel offers access to some of the city’s best dining, shopping and arts venues. Each guest room features stunning photographs of the district, captured by 57 different photographers. The HALL is also filled with artful and inspiring spaces, from guest rooms to meeting spaces. We were especially taken by the art-on-a-plate at Ellie’s Restaurant and Lounge. (See our recent #FoodieFriday to take a bite of that).
If fitness and wellness are factors in your lodging choice, the HALL has so much to offer in that way. The spacious fitness center offers an extensive line of state-of-the-art Matrix Fitness equipment, from treadmills to climbmills, free weights to selectorized equipment and functional fitness space, the impeccably clean fitness center leaves nothing to be desired.
For those like me, who enjoy the camaraderie of a virtual instructor leading you through workouts, take a ride on one of the two Peloton bikes. Finish your workout with a bottle or two of the complimentary bottled waters and a refrigerated towel. Then maybe wrap that up with an in-room recovery session. HALL Arts Hotel has just partnered with Texas-based wellness mecca Hiatus Spa + Retreat to offer guests a selection of curated spa treatments. Tailored specifically for HALL Arts Hotel guests, each treatment begins with a complimentary glass of champagne.
HALL Arts Hotel has a reputation for an exquisite elevated but not stuffy guest experience. They quickly implemented many new safety and sanitization measures based on guidance from the CDC and Dallas county to responsibly welcome guests, including social events and weddings, during the unfortunate COVID-19 pandemic.
Current policies and protocols include remote check-in (a feature hotel guests have come to expect) and text communications, increased cleaning frequency/maximized sanitization efforts, social distancing signage throughout the common spaces. The property has also implemented temporary physical barriers including plexiglass at the front desk, personal protective equipment kits for all guests on check-in and the removal of reusable items in each guest room, with specific items available upon request.
Room selections include Deluxe King, Deluxe Two Queen, Supreme King and Supreme Two Queen in addition to 19 art-inspired, luxury suites. We hung our hats in a luxury suite, and my heart sang like the orchestra pictures on the wall. The lush white bedding was indulgence that loves you back. The mattress was firm, as in you won’t feel your companion tossing and turning, but soft as in it molds to your body—it’ll have even the most sensitive sleeper purring like a baby kitten. Many of us get the heebie-jeebies at the thought of bathing in a hotel bathtub. Do yourself a favor and break that rule at HALL Arts Hotel. The white acrylic center drain tub should be lauded as a piece of art itself. This is a bath-lovers bathtub, with a large sitting area and sloped ends that provide comfortable reclining from either end.
A night’s stay at HALL Arts Hotel will set you back $399-$2,669 per night, which is quite a range. But whether you have a hankering for a standard room or the epitome of luxe accommodations, we had to ask for an insider tip on how you can save a little dough. General Manager Ginger Martin divulged this nugget: “HALL Arts Hotel recently became part of Hilton’s Curio Collection and is currently offering status matching for leisure guests and business travelers.” Martin will certainly greet you with a warm smile and a team of staff eager to serve your every need with welcoming hospitality at HALL Arts Hotel.
