This downtown hotel is stunningly elegant — from the grand entrance to the rooftop poolside dining — and welcomes travelers for an unforgettable stay with warm Tennessean splendor, exquisite dining and soothing spa experiences.
Ideal for a getaway weekend in the heart of Nashville The Joseph Nashville, a Marriott Luxury Collection Hotel, is only a few blocks away from lower Broadway where you find lively country music, honky-tonks and busy tourist attractions. Yet, you feel like you have entered a whole new world.
Guests are treated to exceptional service from the moment they arrive until their departure. Original works of art from local to international artists are an integral part of The Joseph, including the Tennessee Collection.
Hotel and Surroundings
Opened in August 2020, The Joseph is thriving, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Close to some of Nashville’s most popular attractions and experiences, including the Country Music Hall of Fame, Ryman Auditorium, and The Nashville Symphony, there is something for everyone within walking distance of the hotel.
This 21-floor high-rise towers over SoBro (the south of Broadway neighborhood) and the Music City Center, with panoramic views of the city and the Cumberland River. The hotel consists of 297 guest rooms and suites, an opulent spa and multiple dining experiences.
Living with Art
Stunning art is tastefully scattered among the comfortable couches, tables and seating areas of the expansive lobby and throughout the hotel. One of the most notable pieces adorns the front desk. The hand-carved piece of leather with flora and fauna from Texas, Ohio and Tennessee is one of over 1,000 pieces of art from the Pizzuti Collection, one of the world’s top contemporary collections of modern art. (The hotel is named for Joseph Pizzuti, the patriarch of the family, who helped to establish the family’s real estate legacy and the Joseph brand.)
Culinary Experiences
Guests of the hotel and the public can enjoy dining at several excellent restaurants at The Joseph.
James Beard Award-Winning Chef
Yolan Nashville, The Joseph Nashville’s featured restaurant, is directed by Tony Mantuano, a James Beard Award recipient and Michelin-starred chef. After bringing Italian fine dining to Chicago with the legendary Spiaggia, Tony and his wife Cathy are a significant addition to Nashville’s Italian dining scene. Diners can expect thoughtfully prepared delicious Italian cuisine created with ingredients sourced from Tennessee and Italy. In fact, Yolan is one of the best Italian restaurants in the area and a must-try for anyone staying at the hotel or in Nashville. (Stay tuned for our upcoming #FoodieFriday article on Yolan.)
Poolside
Denim, located on the rooftop of The Joseph is a casual restaurant and bar with indoor seating and private cabanas around the pool for hotel guests and the public. A living art plant wall makes a dramatic statement as the backdrop at the end of the pool with the city of Nashville in the background.
Snacks & Snifters
Guests looking for a light snack or a refreshing drink can visit The Joseph Bar, which is located adjacent to the lobby. If you prefer an intimate cocktail lounge, look no further than The Joseph’s newest addition, Four Walls. On the hotel’s mezzanine level, Four Walls overlooks Yolan through a two-sided mirror.
Time to Relax
Aside from the rooftop bar and pool, the 21st floor also houses a 5,500-square-foot spa and salon named Rose, after Pizzuti’s youngest daughter. Next to the spacious tranquil spa (my massage was the best I’ve had!) sits a large fitness center equipped with a range of high-end equipment wide enough to warm any traveller’s heart. The area is roomy with large windows that provide a panoramic view of the city.
The Joseph also has 22,000 square feet of versatile space for every gathering you can imagine, from weddings to corporate events. The high-ceilings, exquisite art, and 3,000 square foot outdoor terrace on the 8th floor are perfect for any event.
The Joseph Nashville is a beautiful, artistic place to stay that will undoubtedly be the most memorable vacation you will experience in Tennessee.
COVID-19 Guidelines
Because of the current environment, social distance markers are installed around the common areas of the hotel, as well as hand sanitation stations. In response to COVID-19, The Joseph also has strict guidelines for the wellbeing of its guests in place.
