Sidecar Social, a unique fusion of casual dining and nightlife draw, is the hot spot in Addison for partiers and diners. Open from early until late, this funky dive is perfect for brunch with friends, date nights and fun group parties.
A Unique Experience
Large-scale arcade and yard games like hoops, shuffleboard, corn hole and bocce ball, paired with scrumptious bites and tasty drinks, make Sidecar Social a truly unique experience. And don’t get me started about the bathrooms. You’ll just have to go to understand.
Greeted by a horseshoe bar that opens up to the outside patio, the rich color story on the walls and furniture and an inviting staff, guests can expect a welcoming atmosphere. In the spring, summer and fall, the patio is the best seat in – or out of – the house. If college football is your weekend fall tradition, move the watch party to the deck and grab a seat in front of one of the five large screen TVs. If the weather right now is a bit too crisp, don’t worry – they have the largest TV screen in Addison in the back dining room.
Best Brunch
For the foodies, brunch is the shining star of the dining menu. Of course, it wouldn’t be brunch without Mimosas and Aperol Spritz, and the bartenders at Sidecar Social sure know how to make a good drink. As the days keep getting cooler, dive into a starter of Spinach Artichoke Dip. Served hot with chips, it’s a delicious way to warm up on a chilly day.
The Chicken and Waffles, a brunch staple, is an absolute must – just make sure you get “the perfect bite.” Stack up your fork with just enough chicken, waffle, bacon and syrup for a bite and enjoy the harmonious combo of sweet and savory. It really is that good.
If something less sweet is your preference, the Southern Breakfast Platter is the way to go. With two huge, dense biscuits topped with jalapeno gravy, breakfast potatoes, eggs and bacon, this hearty plate is almost sure to leave you with leftovers. The gravy is so good that you might want to go ahead and order an extra serving of it to drown the biscuits in like true Southerners do.
Masterminding a Vision
The owner of Sidecar Social, Brent Tipps, works diligently to hold his many businesses at a higher standard. Guests might even bump into him at the location serving food or working with the staff. Aside from Sidecar Social, he is also the founder of BoomerJack’s and Bedford Ice House. As he explained when we chatted, Tipps’ approach to dining provides guests with not only impressive food and drink but also the opportunity to make going out to eat an experience. (As the Sidecar Social website proclaims: “Don’t just go out. Go. All. Out.”)
What made you pursue a career in the food industry?
Working in hospitality means you can create a place where people can come together and connect, relax and have a good time. That’s been what’s kept me going so long. You can come on a date, with your family, friends or just hang out and watch a game. It really means a lot to me to give people a quality experience, great food and drinks with their wallets in mind. I am really proud of that and the fact that our concepts are so welcoming and inviting to everyone.
Tell us about the concept behind Sidecar Social.
Sidecar Social is a social lounge. So, you can relax for a meal and drinks, play a few games, enjoy live music and most importantly meaningfully connect with your friends.
How do you help people connect meaningfully?
We prioritized compelling, warm decor and elevated and innovative food and drink. Pairing that with retro games, live shows, karaoke and more makes it a really dynamic place to go. It’s a big place, so you can hang out with the band, relax at the indoor-outdoor bar on the patio or enjoy scratch-made food in the dining room, or catch a show and play some games in the main room.
What is your favorite part of the Sidecar Social experience?
Definitely relaxing in one of the oversized booths and catching a game on one of our big screens. The energy is great.
Are there plans to expand Sidecar Social to more locations?
Yes, we’d love to open Sidecar in new locations and new markets. We believe people all over will love it.
