New releases and tours in Texas– we have some of the best of the month of August rounded up here for you in this month’s #TexasTunes.

#1 easy life

Over the last few years, easy life has broken new ground for UK bands on the world’s stage. Observational, universal, and deeply personal, debut album “life’s a beach” explored an escapist fantasy of dreary middle England: here was a reminder to find the positives, even in the darkest of years, told through the prism of a seaside getaway.

Their new album, “MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE…” will be released on August 12. Pre-order/save HERE. ‘DEAR MISS HOLLOWAY’, featuring Kevin Abstract from Corpus Christi, frontman for BROCKHAMPTON. The new single from easy life is out now. Watch the official music video HERE. Next month the band will be touring in Dallas and Houston.

#2 Slightly Stoopid

San Diego’s Slightly Stoopid began their Summer Traditions 2022 tour— a nod to the summer outdoor amphitheater circuit the band has performed annually since 2007, but hasn’t taken place for the last two years due to the pandemic. The North American run includes over 20 dates and on August 21, Slightly Stoopid will be performing at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, TX.

Joining Slightly Stoopid for their Summer Traditions 2022 tour are special guests Pepper, Common Kings, and Fortunate Youth.

#3 Lost Dog Street Band

Dark country trio Lost Dog Street Band will perform at Emo’s in Austin on August 6th in support of their album Glory, released earlier this year to positive coverage from Billboard, American Songwriter, Glide Magazine, Holler. and more (Anti-Corp Music). Stream the album HERE, and see ticket information HERE.

Also, this appears to be the last time fans can catch the band live. In a recent Instagram post, Lost Dog Street Band frontman Benjamin Tod shared his desire to step away from touring. His heartfelt message offered a glimpse of an artist moving towards community and family and away from the public eye.

#4 Sparta

Sparta, the El Paso band featuring Jim Ward, has announced they will head off on tour with The Get Up Kids on their 25th Anniversary Four Minute Mile tour. Sparta are the direct support and the dates kick off in Dallas on August 22 with stops in LA, SF, NYC, Boston, Seattle & more.

In 2020, Sparta released Trust The River on Dine Alone Records which was their first full length studio album since 2006’s Threes. Ward has since released his first solo album Daggers, also on Dine Alone Records.

#5 David Beck

Throughout his illustrious career, artist David Beck has been a daydreamer. Reared in the Texas Hill Country, Beck was raised by a musical family who continuously encouraged and reassured his fearless pursuit of creativity as a songwriter, noted bass player, and emerging producer.

He’s touring this month and has an album coming out in September, “Bloom & Fade.” You can catch him Aug. 20 in Fort Worth, TX, at Tulips FTW.
