Dallas-Fort Worth, or DFW, is a lot of things to many people. It’s the nightlife of Deep Ellum. A cowboy honky tonk in the Stockyards. It’s shopping in the Bishop Arts District. Or a festival in Sundance Square. It’s TCU. SMU. And so much delicious barbeque in between. And it’s also the largest indoor water park in North Texas. That is because right now, in the heart of DFW, Epic Waters is making waves as a premier entertainment destination in the great Lone Star State.
Located in Grand Prairie, TX, right next to EpicCentral, DFW’s newest entertainment district, this 80,000 square-foot water world of fun and adventure houses some of the greatest ways to beat the summer heat. With a FlowRider® surf simulator, a 4,000 square foot arcade, a café offering delicious eats from pizza to aloha-style burgers and hotdogs, a full-service bar with unique, hand-crafted cocktails, a children’s water play area, and 12 adrenaline-rushing waterslides, it’s no wonder why Epic Waters earned a place in the top three for the Best Indoor Water Parks by USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice 2023 Travel Awards. This accomplishment is almost single-handedly accelerating the district of EpicCentral to becoming a top five destination in DFW.
This. Is. Epic.
As you enter Epic Waters, you’re quickly greeted by the plentiful shouts of excitement and a visual spectacle of colorful slides and blue hues beaming through the retractable roof. It’s an immersive experience right from the start. To guide you through Epic Waters is the most welcoming, friendly staff who will show you where to change and store your belongings and the latest on the newest attractions, such as the hair-raising Locura. And if you find that you forgot to pack something as crucial as a towel or even a bathing suit, the gift shop at the entrance is equipped to ensure that you have the best experience possible.
Thrills And Chills
Walking through the buzzing arcade and into the water park will leave you wondering what to do first. For starters, take it easy and catch a tube on Texas’ longest indoor lazy river. This wondrous loop around the main attractions showcases everything from the 12 epic water slides to the children’s splash park.
If you’re really feeling bold and adventurous, climb up seven stories to the all-new Locura Water Slide. This dynamic waterslide begins with an AquaLaunch® Capsule to build you up with nervous anticipation before dropping you 40 feet and into a looping 387-foot translucent flume. You’ll travel at 35 mph throughout the thrilling experience, reaching 3.5 G’s before sliding into a curling wave at the end. Once finished, you’ll want to use this newfound pride of conquering the Locura and take the Prairie Plunge, where you’ll drop an exhilarating 50 feet into an open run out.
Also included in these 12 epic water slides that will leave you rushing back in line for more is the Yellowjacket Drop, a first of its kind as a fusion inner tube slide that plunges you and your bestie into a zero gravity drop and up a 50 ft. wall. The Aquanaut, too, is a first of its kind as a double rider indoor Aquasphere slide that twists and turns you and your partner twice inside two high-banking domes.
A Culinary and Cocktail Wave To Catch
When you need to refuel to take on more fun and excitement, Epic Waters has something for everyone. Savor a delicious Aloha Burger served with pineapple and BBQ sauce or share a toasty pepperoni pizza with the family at The Hungry Wave. Then venture over to Longboards, Epic Waters’ full-service bar located in front of the FlowRider®, where a friendly face will make you a signature cocktail named after one of their slides. Refreshing cocktails like the Prairie Plunge and Lasso Loop will not only quench your thirst but might give you the encouragement you need to face the Locura.
Make A Splash. Anytime.
So, when the days are hot, as many of them are, or if you find yourself here in one of our unpredictable rainy springs or cold winter spells, Epic Waters offers the ideal year-round destination for field trips, birthday parties, family outings, date nights, or even corporate events.
