Mark your calendars for Nov. 10, 2024, as multiple award-winning teen actress Kiley Opsal shines bright in this gripping space action-thriller that’s sure to captivate audiences everywhere!  

Set in a dystopian society, “Mission From Outer Space 2037,” transports viewers to a gritty and immersive world where survival is paramount. Filmed in the sprawling landscapes of Texas, the film captures the essence of its setting, offering stunning visuals and heart-pounding action sequences. With a string of impressive credits to her name, including films like “Bad Boys for Life,” “Pursuit of Freedom,” and “Deadly Night Out,” Kiley Opsal has proven herself to be a resourceful and talented actress who can take on a wide range of roles.

But Kiley’s latest project, “Mission From Outer Space 2037”, marks a new and exciting chapter in her career. The film was written and directed by multiple award-winning director Shawn Welling (Welling Films). Agent Rain Moss, played by Shawn’s five-year-old daughter, EmmaRain, who is the lead character in the movie, is on a race against time to find a Zombie antidote in Europe. She and her team soon find out aliens are on their way to terraform the earth. Once she returns home, the real battle to save the world begins. Alongside Kiley, who co-stars in the film as Kelly Cassidy, is none other than action hero Lee Majors, who plays The Colonel and is co-writer of the film, and a host of other noteworthy celebs including Alexis Arnold, the late Tom Sizemore, Tom Vera and Andi Saks. 

Kiley has a unique ability to bring depth and nuance to her role and is a testament to her skill as an actress. Her chemistry with her co-stars is undeniable. For Kiley, being part of “Mission From Outer Space 2037” has been an incredible opportunity. “Working on this film has been an absolute dream come true,” Kiley says. “Shawn’s vision for the story is truly unique and inspiring, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.”

And for Shawn, having his daughter involved in the project has been a surreal experience. “As a father, it’s amazing to see my daughter shining so brightly on screen,” he says. “I knew she had talent from a young age, but this has been incredible to watch her grow and develop as an actress.”

We had a chance to speak to Kiley Opsal recently to discuss her role in the film and to ask her questions about her acting career.

Award-winning Performances

“To be recognized for my talent at such a young age makes me feel incredibly blessed,” says Kiley. “Every set is a new adventure and becomes another wonderful film family to create lasting memories with. A few of my favorite awards I received for Best Young Actress were The LA Film Awards, Oniros Film Awards, and the Prestigious Film Awards.  The competition was tough but I won against some incredible young teens. I love looking at my awards on the shelf in my room, so inspiring to keep going.”

Kiley talks about what it was like to act in “Mission From Outer Space 2037” and being on set with so many talented celebrities. “My experience on ‘Mission From Outer Space 2037’ was just phenomenal. Everyone was so professional and so kind during the shoot. I loved all my scenes, especially working with five-year-old Emma Rain. For someone so young, you would think that she would be disruptive on set, but she is so well-poised and a delight to work with. She is one up-and-coming actress to look out for.  

“Her daddy, Director Shawn Welling, is one of the most creative filmmakers I have ever worked with. He keeps the scenes moving along and is not afraid to switch it up at the last minute when a creative wave hits him. Executive Producer Lee Majors is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. I loved working with my co-star Alexis Arnold, who plays EmmaRain’s big sister, Jackie Moss. She is an incredible actress and also one to watch. All of the cast and crew were amazing to work with, which made everything run so smoothly. I have been blessed to work on some big sets but I have to say ‘Mission From Outer Space 2037’ was a sheer joy and one of my favorites to date.”

“My role as Kelly Cassidy, in the film, is one like no other. She’s very witty, sassy and smart, as well as an independent woman. She knows what she wants and will stop at nothing to get it. The most rewarding part of this character is she is also not afraid to get into some serious fights. I loved all the stunts I was able to perform as Kelly Cassidy on set. She’s a baddy!”

Balancing Career and Home Life

Sometimes balancing an acting career and maintaining a quality life at home can be difficult, but Kiley makes it work. “In my life, I am a full-time honor student-athlete, as well as a working actress. I get this question a lot as it is difficult to manage all of the things I do in my life, but it is so rewarding. I love doing what I do, I think that is what pushes me to be my best and keeps me going. The best way I can explain it is I have the Hannah Montana life; I have the best of both worlds. I live my normal life with my normal friends until I have a major role, and then I go away from home and do it. It’s a lot but I try to keep it simple and fun.”

Future Roles

“In the future, I hope to continue to grow as an established actress and take on roles that challenge me. I would love to explore more action. I have a strong love for action films. I have been blessed to have been trained by some of the best stunt coaches in Hollywood and would love to continue on that path. Look out, Lara Croft!  There are several incredible films I am slated for in 2025, one with an Academy award-winning director, however, I am not allowed to talk about them until they are announced on Deadline. I am super excited about the future and am a strong believer that things happen when they are supposed to.”
