On March 7, Rod Stewart kicked off his “One Last Time” tour at the Moody Center in Austin, delivering a night full of nostalgia, energy, and pure showmanship.
From the moment he stepped on stage with “Tonight I’m Yours (Don’t Hurt Me),” the crowd was on their feet, singing and dancing along.

But before Stewart took over, the legendary Cheap Trick got the party started with their signature mix of catchy hooks and rock ‘n’ roll swagger. Blasting through classics like “Dream Police,” “Surrender,” and “I Want You to Want Me,” they had the audience locked in from the first note. As they wrapped up with “Good Night,” the energy in the arena was electric, setting the perfect stage for the main event.

Stewart’s setlist was a mix of his biggest hits and some personal favorites. “I put songs in here that I wanted to sing… I’ve been doing this for so long, there are certain songs I want to sing,” he told the crowd. One of the most touching moments of the night came when he invited his daughter, Ruby Stewart, on stage for a duet of “Forever Young.” As they performed, you could feel the emotion in the room — it was a powerful reminder of why Stewart’s music has connected with fans for generations.

At 80 years young, Stewart made it clear that despite the tour’s name, he’s not retiring — just scaling back on the massive world tours. But if this does turn out to be one of the last chances to see him on a stage like this, Austin fans got a show to remember.
