As part of their 31-city North American Tour, The Black Keys played Austin’s Frank Erwin Center November 13.
The tour, which has taken the duo-driven band from Las Vegas to Detroit, and Nashville to Vancouver, celebrates the release of The Keys’ ninth studio album, “Let’s Rock.”
The long-awaited album, their first in five years, is a return to the straightforward rock of the singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney’s early days as a band. Auerbach says, “When we’re together we are The Black Keys, that’s where that real magic is, and always has been since we were sixteen.”
Modest Mouse and Shannon & the Clams both provided support in Austin to The Keys on the tour.
We sent our own Brian Maass to capture The Black Keys in action.
