Global music brand Billboard returned to South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin for three nights of unforgettable, star-studded concerts. The event took place at the Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park from March 16-18. Texas Lifestyle Magazine was there for all the excitement!

Day 1

The first day (March 16th) kicked off with Lola Brooke, who warmed up the crowd with an electrifying performance. Armani White surprised fans mid-set by throwing hundreds of packs of fruit snacks into the crowd. The crowd buzzed with excitement chanting the lyrics to his hit song “Billie Eilish,” which peaked at number 58 on the Billboard Hot 100. I regret not asking for a photo with him in VIP when he decided to join the crowd for 03 Greedo’s set. Speaking of which, 03 Greedo surprised fans and gave his first performance in five years with hits from past albums and his latest single, “Bacc Like I Never Left.”

Armani White was hyping up the crowd bringing lots of energy, and by the end of the set, the crowd was chanting for the headliner, Lil Yachty. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, Lil Yachty’s performance was canceled, and all tickets purchased through Moody Amphitheater or Ticketmaster were refunded.

Latin superstars Feid and Eladio Carrión took over the stage for the second day (March 17). The evening kicked off with DJ Gabby Got It, also known as Gabriela Bucio, a beloved local ATX entrepreneur and business owner.

Day 3

For the third day (March 18), electronic music superstars Kx5 (Kaskade and deadmau5) closed out the epic three-night event with a performance of their never-before-heard debut album as a duo. The evening kicked off with DJ Logan Garrett, a Nashville-based DJ who spun tracks across hip-hop, pop and EDM, getting the crowd pumped up for the rest of the evening with DJ SOXXI and Kx5.

DJ Logan Garrett opened the show with an exciting medley of songs across hip-hop, pop and more, getting the crowd pumped up with his hit “Got It All,” which he released last year just after SXSW 2022. He ended his set with a preview of a new song he’ll be releasing next month.

Fresh off her performance at Thursday’s Doritos After Dark afterparty, Las Vegas-based DJ SOXXI got the crowd dancing with her remixes of “Hollaback Girl,” “I Kissed A Girl,” “Anaconda” and other iconic songs before closing her set with “No Scrubs.” If you didn’t know her before, you certainly became a fan after!

Kx5 came together for the first-ever performance of their debut album as a duo, Kx5. They opened the set with their single “Alive,” pumping up the audience for one of their first performances as a duo. The pair kept the crowd entertained throughout their set with an electric performance and light show. “Bright Lights” got the crowd jumping. The dynamic duo put on an entertaining, memorable show. The crowd seemed to agree, as they couldn’t get enough of these two electronic music legends, screaming encore even after they left the stage. Now that’s how you celebrate an album release!
