A New Spin on the Luxury Weekend Escape
For many travelers, choosing where to go increasingly starts with deciding what they want to experience. According to Arival’s 2025 U.S. Experiences Traveler Outlook, 65% of surveyed U.S. experience travelers say activities significantly influence their destination choices.
The Ritz-Carlton Denver and Padel Haus are putting that trend into play. Their collaboration combines luxury accommodations with one of America’s fastest-growing racquet sports. Add exceptional dining, wellness experiences and personalized service, and the result is a weekend designed around much more than a hotel room.
I traveled to Denver with my wife, Linda, to experience the partnership firsthand. As a competitive racquet-sports player, I was particularly interested in the padel programming. Linda, who doesn’t play, was equally interested in what the hotel offered beyond the courts.
What we discovered was an active getaway that delivered two very different experiences without either of us having to compromise.
A Different Approach to Luxury Travel
Upon arriving at The Ritz-Carlton Denver, I had the opportunity to meet in person with Lexi Zambrano, the hotel’s marketing manager. Taking time to personally welcome us, Lexi shared how the property approaches luxury travel through distinctive experiences tailored to its destination.
Lexi explained how The Ritz-Carlton develops signature experiences reflecting the character and attractions of each destination. Rather than offering identical activities everywhere, properties draw inspiration from what makes their locations unique.
In Denver, those experiences range from exploring Red Rocks Amphitheatre to local culinary adventures, wellness activities and personalized excursions.
The hotel’s signature experiences reflect that destination-focused approach. The partnership with Padel Haus fits naturally into the concept. Guests can discover a rapidly growing sport while enjoying the comforts of a luxury hotel.
It’s a thoughtful way to experience Denver beyond the traditional hotel stay.
The Ritz-Carlton Denver: Luxury in the Mile High City

Located in the heart of downtown Denver, The Ritz-Carlton Denver combines an urban setting with the personalized hospitality associated with the brand.
The property holds the distinction of being Denver’s first AAA Five Diamond hotel. With 205 guestrooms, including 47 suites, it offers spacious accommodations and convenient access to downtown attractions.
Our room immediately delivered the comfort and attention to detail expected from The Ritz-Carlton. Generous space, inviting bedding and carefully arranged furnishings created a welcoming retreat from the activity outside.
But one of the most memorable touches came after our first night.
When we returned to our room following housekeeping service, we discovered a handwritten note accompanied by thoughtful gifts. It was an unexpected gesture that made the experience feel personal rather than routine.
That attention to detail became a recurring theme throughout our stay. The Ritz-Carlton wasn’t simply providing luxurious accommodations. Its staff consistently found ways to make us feel genuinely cared for.
The hotel also features an impressive fitness center, a full-service spa, Club Level accommodations and ELWAY’S Downtown steakhouse. Those amenities alone make the property an appealing destination.
But the collaboration with Padel Haus adds something different: an opportunity to build an entire getaway around an active experience.
Padel Haus Denver: A New Way to Experience the City

Padel may still be unfamiliar to many American travelers, but the sport is gaining momentum.
According to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association, more than one million Americans participated in padel during 2025. The United States Padel Association also reported membership growth exceeding 53% that year.
Played primarily as doubles, padel combines elements of tennis and squash on an enclosed court. Players can use the surrounding glass walls to extend rallies, creating a game that’s both strategic and highly social.
For experienced racquet-sports players, it offers a different challenge. For beginners, the learning curve is approachable enough to enjoy the game without years of experience.
Located in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood, Padel Haus Denver features five indoor courts beneath 25-foot ceilings.
The vibrant blue playing surfaces immediately catch your attention. Surrounded by glass and enclosed within a spacious, modern facility, the courts create an impressive setting for players of different abilities.
The atmosphere feels energetic without being overwhelming. The layout provides generous room around the courts, while the surrounding social areas encourage players to stay between matches.
Beyond the courts, Padel Haus offers premium locker rooms, showers, a pro shop, fitness facilities, a café and juice bar, and comfortable lounge and coworking spaces.
It’s a facility designed for more than arriving, playing and leaving. Guests can spend several hours training, socializing or simply relaxing between matches.
But what impressed me most was the personalized attention.
Megan, the assistant club manager, helped make my visit especially enjoyable. Her welcoming approach reflected the atmosphere Padel Haus works to create for players of every ability.
Beginners can participate in group clinics or schedule private instruction. More experienced players can take advantage of organized matches, competitive play and opportunities to improve their skills.
The professional coaching staff brings experience from around the world, offering instruction for players at different stages of development.
As someone who has competed extensively in racquet sports, I appreciated that balance. The club welcomes newcomers while still providing meaningful challenges for experienced players.
It’s an environment where someone can discover padel for the first time or continue developing a serious interest in the sport.
The Ritz-Carlton × Padel Haus Stay & Play Experience

One of the most appealing aspects of this collaboration is how seamlessly the activities fit together.
The Ritz-Carlton’s Padel Haus Stay & Play package includes two nights at the hotel, transportation to and from Padel Haus, private coaching and additional court time.
Guests receive a private lesson and two hours of play, with opportunities for matches based on skill level. The experience is designed to accommodate both newcomers and seasoned players.
The published package also includes a customized Ritz-Carlton × Padel Haus racket, welcome amenities and a $100 daily resort credit.
The racket is a particularly memorable detail.
Its distinctive black design features The Ritz-Carlton Denver branding across the face. It’s a functional piece of equipment and a reminder of the collaboration.
Unlike a typical hotel souvenir, it’s something guests can take home and continue using on the court.
Perhaps the greatest convenience is having the arrangements coordinated in advance.
There’s no need to independently research clubs, arrange coaching or figure out transportation across the city. The hotel and Padel Haus handle the coordination, allowing guests to focus on the experience.
For someone who’s never played padel, the package provides an approachable introduction to the sport. For an experienced player, it offers instruction and opportunities to test their skills.
And because the hotel and club work together, the transition from court time to luxury accommodations feels effortless.
Padel Haus Expands Toward Texas
Padel Haus has established clubs in Brooklyn, Nashville, Atlanta and Denver, with additional expansion underway.
For Texas travelers, one particularly interesting development is the planned Padel Haus location in Dallas’ Design District.
The proposed facility at 1500 Dragon Street is expected to feature six indoor padel courts, along with fitness and social spaces.
The Dallas expansion would introduce another opportunity for Texans to experience the sport closer to home.
It’s also another indication that padel’s popularity is extending well beyond its traditional international markets.
ELWAY’S Downtown: An Experience Worth Savoring

After an active day on the court, a memorable dinner is the perfect way to finish the evening.
Located inside The Ritz-Carlton Denver, ELWAY’S Downtown is named for legendary Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway.
The restaurant offers an upscale steakhouse experience, with premium cuts, seafood and a menu designed around classic American dining.
Our evening at ELWAY’S was exceptional.
Joe and Rebecca took wonderful care of us, delivering attentive service that made the experience feel personal from beginning to end.
Every dish we enjoyed was prepared beautifully, but one item deserves special recognition.
The Lamb Chop Fondue.
This was the unexpected star of our meal.
The beautifully prepared lamb chops and accompanying fondue created a memorable combination of flavors. It’s the kind of dish that stands out even on a menu filled with impressive steakhouse selections.
If there’s one dish I’d encourage visitors to try, this is it.
It’s easy to focus on the traditional steakhouse offerings, but the Lamb Chop Fondue deserves a place among the restaurant’s must-try dishes.
Combined with the service from Joe and Rebecca, dinner became one of our favorite memories from the weekend.
For couples returning from separate daytime activities, ELWAY’S also provides an inviting setting to reconnect over an exceptional meal.
The Club Lounge: Where Details Make the Difference

One of the highlights of our stay was The Ritz-Carlton’s Club Lounge.
Located on the hotel’s 12th floor, the lounge offers an elevated experience for guests with Club Level access.
The lounge provides five culinary presentations throughout the day, from breakfast and midday refreshments to evening selections and desserts.
Whether you’re looking for a quick breakfast before heading to Padel Haus or somewhere comfortable to unwind afterward, the lounge offers a convenient retreat.
The culinary presentations provide a variety of food and beverage options throughout the day. But the experience extends well beyond what’s served.
Julie and Rochelle helped make our time in the Club Lounge especially memorable.
Their welcoming personalities and attention to detail created an atmosphere that felt more like being hosted by friends than visiting a hotel lounge.
They were attentive without being intrusive, and their genuine hospitality made us look forward to returning.
It’s easy for a luxury property to offer impressive furnishings, premium amenities and beautifully presented food.
What’s harder to replicate is the feeling that someone has anticipated what you might need before you’ve even asked.
When I say The Ritz-Carlton seems to have thought of everything, that may still be an understatement.
For travelers considering an upgraded stay, Club Level access adds another dimension to the overall experience.
A Spa Experience That Stole the Show

One of the best features of this getaway is that both travelers don’t have to share the same interests.
While I was enjoying my time on the padel courts, Linda experienced an entirely different kind of luxury at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Denver.
The approximately 6,000-square-foot spa offers an extensive menu of treatments designed around relaxation and personal wellness.
Linda selected the 50-minute Diamond Bright Facial, performed by Lauren, one of the spa’s estheticians.
The treatment uses NATURA BISSÉ skincare products and incorporates a brush cleanse, glycolic peel, sculpting massage, brightening mask and balancing cranial massage.
But the treatment itself was only part of what made the experience memorable.
Linda described a treatment bed that seemed to adjust to the contours of her body, providing an exceptional level of comfort.
As the facial progressed, Lauren incorporated massage techniques that elevated the experience beyond what Linda expected from a traditional facial.
The sculpting and cranial massage were especially memorable, particularly while the facial products were setting.
Every element seemed carefully considered, from the comfort of the treatment room to Lauren’s personalized attention.
When we compared our afternoons, Linda couldn’t stop talking about the results. As she described it, “The way your skin looked afterwards, completely glowing and luminous.”
It was the perfect finishing touch to an experience that impressed her from beginning to end.
And that’s what makes this type of getaway especially appealing.
One person can enjoy several hours of padel while the other takes advantage of an exceptional spa experience.
Both return with something memorable to share.
Fitness and Exploring Beyond the Hotel

For active travelers, maintaining a fitness routine doesn’t have to stop during a luxury getaway.
The Ritz-Carlton Denver offers a well-equipped fitness center with cardio equipment, Peloton options, free weights and strength-training machines.
The fitness center provides opportunities for a complete workout, whether you’re preparing for a day on the court or maintaining your usual routine.
For guests who prioritize fitness while traveling, the range of equipment makes it easy to continue training without leaving the property.
And the hotel’s downtown location makes it convenient to explore Denver beyond the property.

Union Station, Larimer Square, restaurants, shopping and entertainment are among the attractions visitors can enjoy while staying in the city.
For couples with different interests, those options add even more flexibility.
You can spend part of the day together, pursue separate activities for a few hours, and reconnect over dinner or an evening exploring downtown.
The getaway never has to revolve entirely around one person’s favorite activity.
More Than a Hotel Room: A Getaway Worth the Trip
The Ritz-Carlton Denver and Padel Haus have created something that appeals to travelers seeking meaningful experiences alongside luxury accommodations.
You can challenge yourself on the padel court, receive professional instruction and participate in one of the country’s fastest-growing sports.
Then return to a hotel where exceptional dining, wellness experiences, comfortable accommodations and personalized service complete the weekend.
But what ultimately made our visit memorable wasn’t simply the quality of the facilities.
It was the handwritten note and thoughtful gifts left after our first night.
It was Megan helping create a welcoming experience at Padel Haus.
It was Joe and Rebecca making dinner at ELWAY’S feel special.
It was Lauren delivering a spa treatment Linda couldn’t stop talking about.
And it was Julie and Rochelle making every visit to the Club Lounge feel personal.
Those interactions transformed an active weekend into a genuinely memorable getaway.
They also reinforced something Lexi shared during our conversation: luxury travel becomes more meaningful when experiences reflect the destination itself.
The Ritz-Carlton Denver’s collaboration with Padel Haus brings that philosophy to life.
For travelers who appreciate exceptional service, luxury amenities and the opportunity to build a vacation around something they love, the partnership delivers a compelling combination.
And whether both partners pick up a padel racket or only one takes the court, there’s plenty to enjoy together when the final point has been played.
This is an active getaway worth traveling for.
