Whether you’re an experienced theatergoer or simply seeking an exciting activity to enjoy with friends and family, Texas theaters have a lineup of must-see productions this season.
From gripping Pulitzer Prize-winning plays to classic musicals and family-friendly performances, here’s a look at some of the shows you’ll want to mark on your calendar.
Austin
ZACH Theatre: Family Fun for All Ages
If you’re searching for entertainment that the entire family can enjoy, the ZACH Theatre in Austin currently has two fantastic options. “Campfire,” running through March 30, offers an immersive sensory experience for everyone.

“Campfire is a wonderful way to reintroduce ZACH’s Theatre for the Very Young series,” said Director of Youth Programming Nat Miller. Gather around our indoor campfire and experience interactive songs and dances in a new work for 6 months to 5-year-olds and their caregivers. Each family will get a blanket, a pillow, an egg shaker, and some other surprises as you enter our imaginary forest. You will sing, you will move, and you may meet some forest creatures along the way! Seating is general admission and performed with circular staging.
On the other hand, “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!” brings the beloved character from Mo Willems’ book to life on stage in a fun-filled musical experience for kids ages 3 & up, running from February 21 to May 18.

When a bus driver takes an unexpected break, chaos ensues as a feisty pigeon takes the wheel! Audiences can hop on board for an unforgettable ride as this whimsical musical extravaganza soars with laughter, song, and plenty of feathered fun!
