#2 Sir Chloe

Rock band Sir Chloe is playing a show at Moody Center on Aug. 22 – they will be opening for Beck and Phoenix. The tour is in support of Sir Chloe’s debut album, I Am The Dog, released to critical acclaim in May via Atlantic Records – listen here. Led by Dana Foote, Sir Chloe is fresh off a European headline tour, with several North American dates forthcoming.

Made with Grammy-winning producer John Congleton (Lana Del Rey, St. Vincent, Angel Olsen) with songwriting contributions from Teddy Geiger (Caroline Polachek, Sylvan Esso, Lizzo) and Sarah Tudzin (Weyes Blood, Amen Dunes, Slowdive), I Am The Dog encapsulates the thrilling paradoxical nature of Sir Chloe. Thematically, the album grapples with finding control in the innate chaos of life, highlighting and interrogating this tension, only to destabilize it and opt for chaos once again.

His 2020 breakthrough smash “Upside Down” generated over 200 million streams to date and 15 million TikTok video creations and spawned a Charlie Puth remix. JVKE’s 2022 debut album, this is what ____ feels like (Vol. 1-4), experiments with production, time signatures, tuning and style. Denver-based band Kiltro released their excellent and spellbinding sophomore album Underbelly earlier this year. The album crystallizes their dreams and experiences into a post-rock manifesto of dazzling beauty. Underbelly signals a new chapter in the fusion of Latin roots with mainstream rock and marks a bold step forward in Kiltro’s extraordinary musical journey.

To celebrate the album’s release, Kiltro is headed on tour and will be making a stop in Austin at The Ballroom at Spiderhouse on Aug. 16.

Kiltro are famous for their transformative live shows and will be playing new songs from the album including previous singles, “Softy,”All the Time in the World,” and the album’s lead single, “Guanaco.” Each single exemplifies the band’s gorgeous ambient and neo-psychedelia style.
