His 18th studio album, “Detour,” released on Concord Records in September 2022, takes listeners on a stylistic journey. Building on the success of his previous album, “Solid,” which reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200, “Detour” blends contemporary jazz and R&B, offering a respite from the challenges of the world. From breezy tracks like “Coastin’” (featuring Lalah Hathaway) to soulful detours like “Memphis” and the reflective “Blur,” Boney James continues to captivate audiences with his genre-defying music.
