It’s that time again Texas! Grab the glasses and limes to get mixing one of these five drinks to get the party going.  as we celebrate with our southern neighbors honoring the Mexican victory over the French in 1862, not Mexican Independence Day which falls on September 16. One of the main means of celebrating is by grabbing a drink and having a friendly fiesta with a group of friends.

Villa Massa SanguinellaVilla Massa Sanguinella

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. Villa Massa Limoncello
  • 1 oz. Campari
  • 2 oz. Orange Juice
  • 1 oz. Lemon Juice
  • .75 oz. Simple Syrup

Directions

Pour the ingredients into a shaker with ice and mix. Pour mixture into a low glass with ice, and garnish with an orange slice.

Black Raspberry MargaritaBlack Raspberry Margarita

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz el Jimador Tequila
  • .5 oz Triple Sec
  • 3 oz Sour Mix
  • .5 oz Chambord Liqueur

Directions

In a shaker filled with ice, add ingredients and shake to mix. Pour into glass rimmed with salt (optional). Garnish with a lime wedge or flowers.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz el Jimador Tequila
  • .5 oz Triple Sec
  • 3 oz Sour Mix
  • 187ml Champagne

Directions

In a shaker filled with ice, add ingredients and shake to mix. Pour into glass rimmed with salt (optional). Top margarita off with a nice light champagne. Garnish with a lime wedge

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz el Jimador Tequila
  • .5 oz Triple Sec
  • 3 oz. Sour Mix

Directions

In a shaker filled with ice, add ingredients and shake to mix. Pour into glass rimmed with salt (optional). Garnish with a lime wedge.

  • 1/2oz strawberry shrub
  • 3oz soda

Ingredients for Strawberry Shrub

  • 2 cups strawberries-hulled and sliced
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • ½ cup white wine vinegar

Directions

Combine fruit, and sugar in nonreactive bowl. Stir thoroughly to coat evenly. Allow to rest for 1 hour. Macerate by muddling until all fruit is broken up. Cover and let sit for 24 hours at room temperature. Macerate again as much as possible. Add vinegars and stir well. Cover and store at room temperature for 1 week, with a good stir each day. Strain through cheesecloth, push for maximum extraction.

  • 1.5 oz el Jimador Tequila
  • .5 oz Lime Juice
  • 3 oz Sour Mix
  • 3 Dashes of Tabasco

Directions

In a shaker filled with ice, add ingredients and shake to mix. Pour into glass rimmed with salt (optional). Garnish with a lime wedge.
