Texas restaurateur Brian Sneed is proud to announce Quince’s newest location Quince LakeHouse on the stunning shores of Lake Austin (between Hula Hut and Mozart’s). Pronounced “Keen-say” (15 in Spanish), this new location is the third installment of the Quince Collection inspired by their unique and outstanding concept that began in 2016 in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Drawing many global inspirations from foodie hotspots of Mexico City, New Orleans, Rome and others, their dishes are a fusion of Spanish, Asian and even Cajun!

A few months ago, my family was dining on the outdoor patio of Hula Hut, and I looked over and saw that the next restaurant over had been painted a beautiful blue color. That location has been several different restaurants, and it sparked my curiosity.

When you walk in, there is a delightful sitting area designed like the cozy living room of a lake house.

Since the original location started in San Miguel de Allende (Mexico), I had to try their classic margarita, which did not disappoint. They also have a variety of mocktails, craft beers, and a robust wine list.

Much like a tapas bar, since the dishes are made to share, a large party can try a little bit of everything. The rock shrimp tempura and the Bao Carnitas were both a hit, as well as the braised short ribs over hummus. As a hummus connoisseur, I was also quite impressed with the brussels sprout hummus. The lamb barbacoa dumplings and street corn ribs were extremely unique and tasty.

Because part of the allure is that the lakehouse actually sits on the lake, I would recommend asking for a table on the back patio, overlooking the water.

“Our goal in every Quince restaurant is to provide an extended and unique experience that goes beyond just having a meal,” said Brian Sneed, the visionary behind Quince Collection. “We aspire to stimulate all the senses and deliver delicious cuisine that deviates from the ordinary in an upscale yet casual and comfortable environment.”
