February 22 is  National Margarita Day, although Texans never need an additional reason to treat oneself to a marg! The Margarita Mile,a program run by Visit Dallas, is a margarita journey through Dallas. As you make stops on the mile, you check in and the more stops you make, the more opportunities to win, as they say “Sip. Savor. Earn Cool Swag.” Let’s head down the mile…

Beto & Son

The Brand: A collaboration between Beto, a pioneer in Mexican restaurants, and his son, Julian, Beto & Son is bringing a flare and creativity to Mexican food.

The Bev: The Liquid Nitrogen Margarita is made tableside, which leaves you with a unique drink and a show.

The Bites: Some of their creative menu items include Mexican Broth Bowls, Fajita Skillets, and Next Gen Noodle Bowls.

Mariano’s Hacienda

The Brand: Mariano’s was opened by Mariano in 1971. This restaurant is what led him to invent the Frozen Margarita Machine, which now lives at the Smithsonian.

The Bev: The Mariano Margarita, served with a lime daisy as garnish, because… daisy in Spanish is margarita!

The Bites: House-made tortillas and tableside guacamole!

The Bev: The Las Palmas House Margarita and Sangria Swirl, 2 classics mixed together means the best of both worlds.

The Bites: Their array of Fajitas is impressive and is elevated by their homemade tortillas.

The Prickly Pear Margarita walks the line perfectly between the sweetness of the pear flavor and the spicy rim. Photo Courtesy The Margarita Mile.

Gloria’s Uptown

The Brand: An authentic Salvadoran and Tex-Mex fusion concept that is known for innovation.

The Bev: The Prickly Pear Margarita, their signature Margarita Mile drink that does not disappoint, especially if you are already a prickly pear fan like myself.

The Bites: Black Bean dip, pupusas, and tamales. One of the ways that Gloria’s is unique is their black bean dip that they serve upon arrival with chips.
