Dallas’ Hospitality Sweet, a favorite among downtown commuters for coffee and pastries, has opened a second location in Preston Center. The new location offers an expanded menu and dining room, while still maintaining the staples we love like Texas scones, cake pops and macarons.
The Preston Center outpost offers diners much more variety including breakfast tacos, breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy and potato brisket hash. Additionally, the lunch menu features some new sandwiches including mushroom swiss, hot pastrami and a fresh take on the classic Italian. Don’t worry, we tried them all at the media dinner. But what has us most excited is The Hospitality Sweet’s expansion into happy hour.
Dallas takes happy hour very seriously, and Preston Center does not lack for many a happy hour joint. However, you won’t find crab dips and bruschetta on this menu. Instead, be prepared to enjoy roasted grapes with blue cheese and walnuts, a delicate roasted vegetable tart and blistered shishito peppers with a house made aioli that will change your world. It’s worth noting that their mixed green salad with shaved asparagus, radish, fennel, english peas and a bright lemon vinaigrette is one of the better salads I’ve had lately. If classic happy hour sides are more your speed, don’t pass on the house cut fries with aioli. You’ll eat the whole plate and wonder who stole them from you. I know we did.
The Hospitality Sweet is located at 6135 Luther Lane. It’s open Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
