With our ever-increasing business of life and decreased attention spans, businesses are combining services to rope people in for a bigger and better experience. That’s exactly what comes to mind with Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl & Grill in Round Rock. Designers of this one-stop-shopping concept are counting on providing you with food, drinks, entertainment and shopping, all in one swoop—and it works! This family-friendly mecca is ideal for a weekend or evening of fun.

Start with lunch or dinner at the grill. Kids, and adults alike, will be captivated by the hand-painted walls of marine life, making you feel like you are down deep in the fishbowl. Eye candy everywhere, you can enjoy the coral reef, fish and even boats coming out of the walls. What kid doesn’t want to have a sunken ship right above him?

Enjoy signature menu items, like their most popular fish & chips, fish tacos, Tournament Burger or the popular Alley Gator (yes, alligator!), lightly fried alligator tail served with house-made jalapeño cream cheese “gator sauce.”

My favorite dish was the On The Nose Nachos – not your mama’s nachos. The chips are piled high with BBQ pulled pork, slaw and queso fresco. There’s also a full bar, set with the same underwater adventure theme so if you care to dine without kids, that would also be a great option.

Next, take your crew to the bowling alley part of the grill. With a background screen depicting an aquarium scene, shark ball holders and colored balls, this is one fun underwater expedition! You’ll see why it’s a popular spot for kids’ birthday parties, too. After you’re full and all bowled over, go window shop for that boat you’ve always wanted. Makes for a fun-filled family outing.
There’s also a location in Harlingen, Texas.
