March 2, 1836, marks the day that Texas gained its independence from our neighbor, Mexico. Since then, it has grown into a state of great culture, pride and grandeur. As the bluebonnets bloom and the rodeos reveal themselves during this time of celebration, Texas Lifestyle Magazine has put forth its recommendations for Texas-themed products for Texans, or Texans at heart (it’s okay, we won’t judge).

Durango Cowboy Boots

Everyone needs at least one pair of cowboy boots if you live in Texas. (Ladies, I recommend a pair in every color…just like your heels.) Durango is a leader in Western boots. Durango boots feature all-day comfort, performance and style with silhouettes including classic square and round toed boots; handcrafted work boots; leather booties; and much more. $155+

Black Matte with Gold Texas Ceramic Ring Dish

Brush Strokes pottery is an Austin based pottery shop with a passion to help others “create and experience the joy of art.” Run by an Austinite, Courtney Joyner breathes life into the clay (which is found locally). In honor of Texas Independence day, tip your hat towards her Texas Ceramic Ring Dish. This gift is perfect for any occasion – whether it be Texas Independence day, Mother’s Day, a grad gift, or just because! The items are available for local pickup but are also shipped internationally. Should you become divinely inspired to create ceramic paraphernalia of your own – sit down at Brush Strokes and try your hand(s) during a workshop$32

 Perini Ranch Beef Sticks

Perini Ranch Steakhouse in Buffalo Gap, Texas, is known for authentic cowboy cuisine, a beautiful steakhouse home to mouthwatering chops and real meat. Perini Ranch has created a flavor experience that allows you to never leave the comfort of your own ranch (or home) – Perini Ranch beef sticks, mesquite smoke cured and made of 100% beef tenderloin. This is the perfect on the go protein snack. $9.50 per package

Falcon Roka Sunglasses

Alright Alright Alright! These Falcon shades with a gunmetal polarized lens scream Texas style. The aviator lens “delivers unmatched, ultralight performance with zero compromise on style.” Roka specializes in performance, triathlete products, and even prescription eye candy – but as if that wasn’t enough, they’re Austin based! The aviator lens is a cult fave – classic yet eye-catching, trendy, but also timeless.  $310

Augusta Vin – Grenache Wine

Cheers to independence! This wouldn’t be a proper Texas roundup without a glass of red – or should we say medium garnet. The Augusta Vin winery sets the standard – located in Fredericksburg, the Texas Hill Country, tucked away by gardens and greenery. The 2020 Grenache is perfect for a celebration – it is a dry Spanish wine paired well with a seared pork chop or even a grilled cheese. This glass has a savory undercurrent and is a serious light bodied red. ¡Salud! $43

We accept and write about a small fraction of these offers, always with a view to what would be interesting or helpful to our readers. You may notice that our reviews are generally positive, which is because we don’t enjoy writing negative ones, and therefore choose only to write about the things we can recommend without reservation. Some we recommend, we receive an affiliate commission for at no additional cost to you. We’ve never received monetary compensation in exchange for a positive review.
