We’re big on gifting consumable items! Do we really need more stuff? We found some tasty vino for you to buy as a gift, feature on your holiday table or pluck away for that special 2023 occasion.

Augusta Vin

Everything IS bigger and better in Texas! Augusta Vin is one of our favorite Texas wines (and their tasting room in Fredericksburg is spectacular!) Their varietals are made completely from Texas grapes. Their best seller is The Brisk White which is made from trebbiano, an Italian grape. You also can never go wrong with The Reserve Malbec which is made from the Tannat grape. $30-46 This article is a sponsored collaboration with Augusta Vin

Ferrari-Carano

Their 2021 Fumé Blanc is the gift to bring to the holiday party with its grapefruit and tropical fruit flavors. The 2019 Chardonnay has a citrus, spiced pear and buttercream taste to add to your holiday table. The 2017 Trésor has a taste of blackberry, plum and dark chocolate. Like their 2018 Sky High Ranch Pinot Noir, both couple well with beef or a rack of lamb during the holiday season. $15-52

Avaline

We’re big fans of Avaline, a “clean wine” produced by actress Cameron Diaz. Avaline has a limited-edition holiday collection with 6 wines from around the world. They are the perfect gifts to give out because it comes with Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Bobal, Merlot and Penedés Tinto. We also love their Cabernet Sauvignon tapped from Tagaris Winery. “Wine” your day down on a chilly winter night. With red berry and coca, bring this one to the table. $30 – 175 (for the 6 pack)

dough wines

We’ve touted dough wines previously as we love how approachable and affordable this brand is. We particularly like the 2019 North Coast Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their Sauvignon has a fruit juice taste while the Chardonnay pairs perfectly with a charcuterie board. Add these to your regular rotation! $18.99-21.99

Villa Maria’s Premium New Zealand Wines

Taste the Villa Maria Wairau Valley Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2021 which has a sweet grapefruit aroma with dried herbs. The Villa Maria Private Bin Pinot Noir 2020 is also a knockout with flavors of berries, cherries, and coffee. Show up to your holiday party in style with these wines in hand; everybody loves a Kiwi! $19-25

Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2017, Tuscany

Get a taste of Tuscany (our favorite region in Italy!) with this beautifully aged wine. Aged for at least 5 years, you’ll get a taste of ethereal violet, vanilla and licorice. It’s soft on the palate and we paired it with red meat and cheese which tasted amazing! Amor! $74.99

Etude Winery 2018 Estate Heirloom Pinot Noir

Gift a delicious bottle of 2018 Estate Heirloom Pinot Noir from Etude Winery to your special host for a perfect and fun holiday. With its dark black cherry, red raspberry and cola spice flavors that are delicately interwoven with lavender and rosemary presenting depth and balance to this wine. If it’s above your gifting price point, get a bottle for your loved one/ partner for a special occasion. $95

Messina Hof Winery

The largest producer of Texas wines, Messina Hof released five new wines in their commemorative collection co-branded with The Admiral Nimitz Foundation and the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, Texas. It includes a dry white Operation Iceberg, a semi-sweet white Code Girls, a dry red Old Texas Roundup, a Cabernet Sauvignon Command Post and a dessert red Admiral’s Reserve. Get the full history and stories behind each label on their website. This collection supports the museum with a portion of the collection’s sales proceeds going to them. This is perfect for that veteran on your list or history buff.

CK Mondavi and Family Dark Cabernet Sauvignon

Great for sipping on cold winter nights. This wine makes a statement with dark, black fruit character and imparts deep jam flavors with rich notes of mocha and coffee. The Dark Cabernet Sauvignon ends with a long, plush, velvety finish. $8.97

Flat Top Hills Red Blend

Flat Top Hills Red Blend is a mouth-watering, medium to full-bodied wine with cinnamon stick and spice components that marry well with generous, dark fruit and bright raspberry notes. Pair it with grilled salmon, bbq pork ribs and Korean BBQ. $16.99

Still Austin Whiskey

If wine is not their drink, a bottle of Still Austin Whiskey is sure to be a welcome gift. “The Artist” is a 100% Straight Rye Whiskey made from Texas grains that’s dedicated to the dreamers, visionaries, and artists who have inspired the team. Aged for at least two years and bottled at 99.6 proof, the new flagship rye whiskey provides a palate of spicy chocolate, apricot, sandalwood, ginger and caramel. $50

Marques de Casa Concha

Enjoy the rich taste behind number one super premium brand Marques de Casa Concha with Marcelo Papa, the mastermind behind the flavor. The grapes with their Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Carménère and Cabernet Sauvignon are grown in the Andes mountain area and coastal range near the Pacific Ocean of Chile. The Cabernet is aged 18 months to perfection and pairs delightfully with red meat. The Pinot Noir comes with a red cherry character and their Carménère gives you a taste of fruit with blueberries. $20-25

One of the pleasures of publishing a lifestyle magazine like Texas Lifestyle Magazine is that we receive invitations to attend events, travel and review products. We accept and write about a small fraction of these offers, always with a view to what would be interesting or helpful to our readers. You may notice that our reviews are generally positive, which is because we don’t enjoy writing negative ones, and therefore choose only to write about the things we can recommend without reservation. Some we recommend, we receive an affiliate commission for at no additional cost to you. We’ve never received monetary compensation in exchange for a positive review.
