It’s awards season, a time when Hollywood walks the red carpet and the world watches to see the latest glamorous fashions.
Feathers, florals, tulle and embellishments are trending for the Oscars and I have curated top award-winning looks and predictions for the red carpet. Not headed to Hollywood? These looks easily translate into your special gala night in Texas.
Blush tones and embellishments are hot in Hollywood and be prepared to see them all over the red carpet. This Pamella Roland gown (above) features both of these trends seamlessly making for an over the top fashion forward look. The floral beaded detail adds a feminine, soft touch. Whimsical and fairy tale like this gown is also a perfect fit for the Ars Lyrica Mid-Winter Night’s Dream Gala in Houston on February 23.
Feathers provide glamour and grace. They’re old Hollywood glam at it’s finest. Another pick from Pamella Roland (above), whose gowns are over the top and red carpet-ready, is this feather, beaded sequin gown also in a stunning soft blush tone. The light shade will pop against the red carpet, providing a nice contrast. Zsa Zsa Gabor would be proud.
It wouldn’t be the Oscars without Marchesa. This emerald green floral appliqué gown (above) is my top pick for the red carpet. It is ornate, intricate and bold. The sheer plunging neckline is a flattering touch and the three-dimensional appliqués makes this absolutely gorgeous. In monochromatic green tones, these colors are unique—-making for a one-of-a-kind Oscar look.
Expect to see Alexander McQueen on the red carpet this Sunday. McQueen is hotter than ever. This simple gown is elegant and understated. The chiffon detailing provides an old Hollywood glam look and the red in the dress will complement the red carpet beautifully. Be sure to look out for a lot of red at this year’s awards. It is a classic hue that is leading fashion this year.
Velvet is a major fashion forward right now so also be on the lookout for it on the red carpet. This Eliza J gown (above) mixes velvet and jacquard making for a textured look. Florals again are huge and this A-line gown carries them well. Black is a classic color and, just like last year, we will see a lot of it on this year’s carpet. This would also be beautiful for the 2019 UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball in Dallas, February 23.
All of these looks are amazing for Gala season. You can shop the looks on www.shopstyle.com. See you on the red carpet!
