Most of us need to work, and all of us I imagine, want to be comfortable while doing so!

Although stuffy clothes and suits may still be the norm in some work environments, my experience as a Fashion and Personal Stylist has shown me that the desire for comfortable clothing in the office has taken a front row seat. Some folks take the comfy aspect a bit too far, and wear outfits that are indeed comfortable, but NOT office appropriate. (Seriously, unless you work in a gym, workout clothes are not office appropriate.)

But, can you look polished, sophisticated and put together and really STILL be comfortable? YES, with the right pieces, such as those by artTECA. This company has hit a bullseye. With easy, comfortable wearable pieces of art (almost literally), they have created a line that can bring classy comfort to the office. Get a taste for their look in our cover photo, featuring their Muse silk blouse (color star print), inspired by artwork from Jovi Schnell, and the beautiful scarf, below,, inspired by the work of artist Ruben Torres Llores

And their story of who they are, what they do and why, is just as inspiring as their clothes and accessories. As they say, “with limited edition artwork by contemporary artists from around the globe. artTECA fuses art and fashion and brings women the opportunity to shop unique and exclusive designs, while also making an impact in art education with each purchase made.”

Fashion with a purpose. Can I get an amen?

Now, that’s all great. But, how exactly do you create an entire ensemble that is office appropriate and comfortable? Let’s take a look at a couple of their pieces, and see how I style them to create a comfortable ensemble that doesn’t compromise our own style.

1. The artTECA Allover Pant-Rose Graphite print.

I LOVE a jogger pant. Now, that’s a comfortable piece. These 100% silk joggers inspired by the artwork of Wendy White are a perfect way to marry comfort and style. Stay comfortable but still chic by pairing the joggers with a bell sleeve blouse and mules. Finish off with jewelry like an initial pendant, multi colored studs and a great bag, and you are ready to take on the office in comfort AND style!

2. The artTECA Kinetic Silk tank top-Color Brushstroke Print.

A shell is probably one of the most valuable pieces to have in your wardrobe, especially if wearing a jacket is the dress code in your office. Tanks allow for ease of movement under that jacket and offer an upgraded look from a t-shirt, but not as “corporate” as a button down. Plus, they elevate jeans. The silk shell moves easily under a blazer for maximum comfort, yet a polished office look. Paired with a paper-bag-waist trouser and “of the moment” slides, you can work all day without feeing stuffy, constricted or underdressed!
