Chances are, if you’re on Instagram or have picked up an issue of “Vogue” or “InStyle,” you’ve seen her work. The cute and whimsical illustrations have captured the hearts of fashionistas everywhere.

Born in China, Rongrong DeVoe began drawing at the age of 6, and after a short career as a conceptual artist in Shanghai, DeVoe moved to New York to purse a Masters in Illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

“I began drawing as a kid. My father, an entrepreneur with a background in design, was the one who originally inspired me to begin my career as an artist,” she says. “I have been so fortunate to tell my story through my artwork, but also to touch women across the nation as I seek to empower them through my artwork.”

A career change for her husband landed DeVoe in Houston which is where her entrepreneurial spirit kicked in, and she began creating her own art. DeVoe has worked with brands such as Chanel, Dior, Armani, Neiman Marcus, Maybelline New York, Target… and those are just a few of the clients on her roster. She also has a life-sized mural in Houston’s River Oaks District, and you may catch her at high-end stores creating custom work for clients.

“I love to draw women. I think that the expression of beauty comes from the energy a person exudes and the goals and dreams inside of each of them. It’s truly an honor for me to be able to sit down and get to know how each girl thinks and what makes her “tick,” says DeVoe. “When I get to know my clients, I really take the time to imagine that person. I find myself loving the creative part of connecting with that person’s spirit, energy, and personality and bringing that persona to life.”
