May is Texas Writers Month! First celebrated in 1994, Texas Writers Month was created to promote and support literary talent across the Lone Star State. Join us in celebrating the gifted authors contributing to Texas’s literary legacy.

San Antonio native Brian Cranley has always been fascinated by the intersection of God and “the real world.” This fascination led him to complete his Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University and his Master of Divinity and Theology from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. In his new book, The Call of Wonder, he guides readers to rediscover the connection between scientific discovery and a passion for faith. The Call of Wonder will be published on August 5, 2025.

Melting Point: Family, Memory, and the Search for a Promised Land

In her memoir, Cockerell explores David Jochelmann, her great-great-grandfather, and his role in forming the Galveston Movement, an often overlooked moment in history when ten thousand Jews fled to Texas in the years before World War I. Melting Point: Family, Memory, and the Search for a Promised Land was named A New York Times Most Anticipated Book and was longlisted for the 2024 Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction.
