Shenandoah is a Shopper’s Paradise:

With five shopping centers, Shenandoah is a shopper’s paradise. In late 2022, a new Daiso store opened in Metropark Square, and in the last two years, a new Adidas, Cycle Gear, Fan Outfitters, and J. Crew Factory store all opened in the city’s Portofino Shopping Center—all which were new to our area.

The city also features a number of locally-owned specialty stores, including Bikeland, Bike Lane, Picket Fences, Precision Camera and Video, as well as Space CadetsViolet K-pop and Orange Pocket. These stores provide their customers an incredible depth of knowledge, selection and service—and Spring is a wonderful time to visit them and see what they have to offer, whether you’re looking for something to spruce up your home, capture family memories, pick up something for the kids, or take advantage of the season and enjoy the outdoors on a new bike!

Foodies will appreciate the breadth of the city’s dining scene and restaurant offerings in Shenandoah. Restaurateurs provide a variety of cuisines, dining experiences and price points, whether you’re looking for something quick and casual, or a more sophisticated dining experience you might have at one of the city’s more upscale establishments.

Shenandoah is also fortunate to continue to have new restaurants continue to come to our city.  Over the past two years, the city has celebrated the opening of several new restaurants, including: Adriatic Café, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine, and Kyuramen. Just last year, SomiSomi, a new Korean-style soft-serve ice cream and taiyaki store in Metropark Square, and since then, four new restaurants (Knead Me Bakery, K-POT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot, Pluckers Wing Bar) have also opened, and a new Sin Yolanda restaurant, based in San Antonio, recently opened in April 2026.  These new restaurants will continue to expand our diverse offerings and enhance our city’s vibrant food scene.

Outdoor Parks and Activities:

If getting back to nature is more your style, Shenandoah and the surrounding area has options for that, too.  Shenandoah has a number of parks, including City Park with its array of beautiful trees, outdoor play equipment, tennis and pickle ball courts, soccer field and splash pad, and Vision Park, with its half-mile walking/biking path, benches, and bridges surrounding a large pond with LED-illuminated fountains. All provide visitors with lots of amenities to enjoy, and on Veterans Day 2024, the city also dedicated Shenandoah Veterans Point at Vision Park, a beautiful plaza and with a monument honoring residents who have served in the armed services. It is a tranquil and lovely spot that visitors should definitely visit while they are here.  Additionally, outdoor enthusiasts can connect with nature as they explore the W.G. Jones State Forest or George Mitchell Nature Preserve, just minutes away.
