Join Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas at its inaugural Wine Women & Shoes—an engaging and exciting fundraising event where community-minded, philanthropic women (and a few good men) gather to sip, shop, savor, and support a worthy cause in a chic, fun, and innovative way. 

Wine Women & Shoes will take place on March 1, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the beautiful Red Berry Estate in San Antonio. Proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas, creating life-changing wishes for local children with critical illnesses. Since its inception, Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas has granted over 6,000 transformational wishes. From shopping sprees to attending movie premieres, treehouses to skiing trips, Make-A-Wish is on a mission to provide hope, strength, and joy to wish kids battling traumatic medical conditions.

Ahead of the event, Shoe Guys will be spreading the word to friends and colleagues, while competing for the coveted “King of Sole” crown, awarded to the Shoe Guy who raises the most in the weeks leading up to the event. On event day, the Shoe Guys will have the opportunity to host the lovely ladies ready to sip, shop, and support, all to benefit Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas. The Shoe Guys will greet and escort guests to the Marketplace, support wine service from sip-sational wine partners, sell entry tickets for Key to the Closet and bottles from the Wall of Wine, promote the auction, and—most importantly—make every guest feel special.

The unique format of Wine Women and Shoes ensures guests will experience an engaging afternoon of fashion-forward fundraising. The event will feature a pop-up Marketplace where guests will shop retailers that offer a variety of trends and price points through a carefully curated selection of shoes, handbags, jewelry, accessories, and more. While shopping, guests will sip on world-class wines, taste savory bites, and mingle with our charming Shoe Guys all while showing off their fabulous footwear in hopes of winning “Best in Shoe”!

In addition to sipping and shopping, Wine Women & Shoes will feature various other opportunities for guests to support Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas like bidding in a Silent Auction filled with irresistible packages. There will be a unique opportunity to purchase “keys” (entry tickets) into a “Key to the Closet” giveaway where one lucky winner will take home the coveted “closet”. Or you can try your luck at the Wall of Wine. Pull a mystery bottle of wine for $25 and you may go home with something extra special to add to your wine collection.

Moving on to a seated program, guests will experience an expertly curated Live Auction filled with one-of-a-kind trips and exclusive experiences. We can’t forget about the highly anticipated and high-energy fashion show by Saks! Remember the “Best in Shoe” judging? Those winners will be invited to the runway to show off their most fabulous flats, sassiest stilettos, and wonderful wedges. The program concludes with the announcement of our King of Sole and Key to the Closet Winner.

Throughout the afternoon, guests will have the chance to hear the incredible stories of local wish kids and families. A wish provides a child battling a critical illness the opportunity to experience something they never thought possible. It is a catalyst that can have the power to help children overcome their medical challenges and change their lives forever.
