Highly influential and regarded as one of the most impactful Mexican-Americans in United States history, Selena Quintanilla’s legacy remains just as relevant as ever.

It has been 30 years since her passing on March 31, 1995, and fans around the world continue to show their appreciation and amazement at her talent, beauty, and music.

Born and raised in Texas, Selena’s legacy has been immortalized through film and most recently through a Netflix series and Mac makeup line. Considered the Queen of Tejano music – a form of music that infuses regional-Mexican with elements of American rock, folk, country, R&B, and cumbia – Selena’s musical legacy continues to remain strong in the Latino community, as well as globally. She is one of the few Latina artists to cross over into the American music market in the 1990s.

March was the 30th Anniversary of Selena’s passing at the age of 23, and April 16 marks what would have been her 54th birthday. Texas Lifestyle Magazine honors Selena’s legacy, positive influence, and global impact by sharing this list of five places you can visit to show your respect and honor the legendary singer.
