Whether for a honeymoon, girls trip, romantic getaway, trip with the fam, or an I-just need-to-get-out-of-Texas-trip, an unforgettable vacation at Vista Encantada awaits you.

Check out from reality and check into a sanctuary of elegance and comfort. It’s easy to step into paradise with a short two-hour flight from Texas to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Stay at Vista Encantada Spa Resort & Residences where you’ll feel like royalty. (You’ll even have access to your own personal Butler!)

Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean with breathtaking views of Los Cabos’ iconic Land’s End, the boutique Vista Encantada has 36 luxury suites that have the perfect blend of colorful decor, sophistication, and warmth. As soon as you step foot into the property, you’re succumbed to genuine hospitality and a welcoming ambience that sets the vibe for relaxation and indulgence.

The beauty is unmatched here at Vista Encantada; it’s understandable why it’s the most sought-after wedding destination in Cabo. For those who want to get married in the church, the property has a beautiful cathedral at the top of the hill, and every Sunday they have a church service. (More on wedding packages here).

I stayed in the Two Bedroom Vista Suite featuring a master bedroom with a king bed and second bedroom with two queen beds. (These suites go for as low as $325 a night, so this deal is a steal!) The outside terrace leads to the master bedroom, living room area, and guest bedroom.

You’ll have a private terrace with a plunge pool overlooking the gorgeous mountains and ocean views. There’s even a grill, although I’m not sure that is something you would end up using if you upgrade to the all-in gourmet indulgence plan.

The unique All-in Gourmet Indulgence Plan not only gives you access to all the amazing on-site dining, it also gives you full access to all the resort amenities at Vista Encantada’s sister properties, Hacienda Encantada Resort & Residences, and Marina Fiesta. It also allows you to dine at the gold zone, which is located right in the heart of Cabo San Lucas downtown.

Take the shuttle service and head down to Marina Fiesta if you’re looking for a party scene or want to explore downtown for shopping. (The shuttle service runs every two hours, and a golf cart runs every 10 minutes to take you between Vista and Hacienda.)

Consider staying or dropping by Hacienda Encantada if you’re wanting to bring the kids along, as they have a kids club and water playground on property.

One of the highlights of the resort is the rooftop pool & bar: Ático located on the 7th floor. Enjoy beautiful panoramic 360 views. Take a dip in the expansive infinity pool or jacuzzi overlooking the waves. You just might get lucky like I did and spot a whale in the distance while eating lunch. Appetizing nachos and refreshing cocktails while sunbathing? Don’t mind if I do!

The rooftop is where you’ll find the Sky Gym featuring more amazing panoramic views. Photo courtesy Vista Encantada Spa Resort & Residences .

Here on the rooftop is where you’ll find the Sky Gym featuring more amazing panoramic views. No need to leave out the workouts just because you’re on vacation. (People stay at Vista Cantada just because of this gym!)

Exquisite Cuisine by the Ocean

From delicious prime steaks to seasonal seafood and special line-caught fish, there’s something at Mestizo Del Mar for the pickiest of pallets. Photo courtesy Vista Encantada Spa Resort & Residences.

Also located on the seventh floor is signature cuisine Mestizo Del Mar that serves three meals a day. From delicious prime steaks to seasonal seafood and special line-caught fish, there’s something here for the pickiest of pallets.

The ribeye steak was exquisite, and the sauce that came with it was even more heavenly.

Located at the cliff of the resort, Los Riscos at Hacienda Encantada is another gem for delicious mesquite steaks and romantic views. This might be one of the most relaxing dinner settings you’ll ever be in. Enjoy fresh, grilled fish and seafood, pastas, soups, and salads while listening to the sounds of the waves crash below in the moonlight.

Looking for Mexican gourmet? La Trajinera offers authentic local Baja-style food. Craving tequila with those tacos? Head to El Eden for handcrafted smooth tequila paired with traditional Mexican food in a casual ambience. Sick of seafood and want a break from Mexican food? Dine at Barolo for some Italian-Mediterranean cuisine or Il Forno at Hacienda for timeless Italian specialties like classic gourmet pizza and pastas. I surely relished the margarita and pepperoni pizza from Italian Chef Roberto Macciadris.

You may be looking for something lighter and healthier. If that’s the case, then head to Fresco on the second floor at Vista Encantada to enjoy a wide variety of juices and natural healthy delights to snack on.

I can go on and on about all the delicious cuisine on property, but it may be best to take a look yourself as there’s so many options.

The Temazcal Wellness Experience

I highly suggest booking the Temazcal experience located at Hacienda Encantada. The Temazcal is an important mind and practice; it’s a traditional sweat lodge used for cleansing rituals and health and therapeutic benefits. The darkness and warmth of a Temazcal represent the womb of mother Earth.

A temazcalero or shaman leads guests through the power of the four elements – water, fire, air, and earth – to purify the mind, body and spirit. This hour-long ceremony uses music, steam and herbs to transport guests through a sensorial experience. This is a unique experience that everyone should be open to trying.

We sweat. We sang. We breathed in and out. We released stress and negative energy. It was a transformative experience that left me inspired, spiritually cleansed, and feeling more connected with myself and mother earth.

(The experience is available on Fridays at 4 p.m., priced at $75 USD per person and requires a minimum of four participants).

Serenity at the Milagro Spa

There’s plenty of unique treatments to choose from – such as a lava shell massage, an agave and tepezcohuite peel-off mask, a chocolate body wrap, tequila and salt exfoliation, and much more. Photo courtesy Vista Encantada Spa Resort & Residences.

Are you even on vacation if you’re not unwinding at a spa? Vista Encantada’s Milagro Wellness Spa offers treatments based on Mexican rituals and named after the flowers of Mexico, including the dahlia, amaranth, sunflower and cempasúchil.

Take advantage of the amenities at the spa, including a sauna, steam room, hot tub, and open-air pool. Photo courtesy Vista Encantada Spa Resort & Residences.

There’s plenty of unique treatments to choose from, such as the “Pacific Mare,” an 80 minute treatment that incorporates the use of Ayurvedic massage oil and a seaweed facial. While the oil warms the body, the facial cools and moisturizes the skin. Other treatments include a lava shell massage, an agave and tepezcohuite peel-off mask, a chocolate body wrap, and tequila and salt exfoliation. The “Mayan Massage” incorporates ancient techniques to heal the mind and body. The temazcal, a traditional steam house, is also available at the Milagro Wellness Spa. You can also stick to the classics like a Deep Tissue Massage. You’ll feel so much lighter and looser. You don’t really know how tense you are until you’re not tense anymore.

Relax in the open-air outdoor pool at the spa while basking in the beautiful ocean and mountain views. Photo courtesy Vista Encantada Spa Resort & Residences.

Other amenities to take advantage of at the spa include a sauna, steam room, hot tub and open-air pool with ocean and mountain views. (The pool even has jets to massage your head and feet!) This wellness spa is your own sanctuary of serenity.

Things to Do

Everything you need is here, and I mean everything. You won’t need to leave the property. Plan your itinerary right because the possibilities are endless on how to spend your days. Keep it sporty by spending your days playing tennis or basketball on the courts, or a nice friendly game of golf at the Hacienda Putting Course. Pickleball on the property is very popular as well. On Fridays, you can go horseback riding on the beach. (Make sure to reserve ahead of time as there are only four horses on the property).

For fun on the water, rent a Jet Ski, paddleboard or kayak and snorkel. Go parasailing if you’re feeling adventurous, or take a clear boat to the famous arch to see the incredible rock formations. Book a dolphin experience and get nose-to-bottlenose with friendly dolphins.

For more chill vibes, go on a bike ride along the beach, do some yoga and meditation while listening to the waves crash against the rocks. Take a cocktail class on Fridays and learn how to prepare drinks.

Other notable activities include aqua aerobics, Spanish classes, ping pong tournaments, cooking & cocktail classes, and tequila and wine tasting ($).
