Four Seasons Hotel Houston, located at the heart of the Bayou City, provides a port-of-call for those visiting the many attractions of Houston.
The hotel features over seven guest accommodations. The premier executive suite offers a spacious layout, including a living room and a separate bedroom featuring a king bed, as well as top-tier views of the city. Be prepared for exceptional service from the bellmen to the servers.
Make sure to treat yourself to an indulgent spa treatment at the Four Seasons Spa on the fourth floor. It’s the cherry on top of this gift to oneself. You’ll also want to make time for the outdoor pool, fully equipped with beverage service, shaded lounge chairs and fresh air aplenty.
Fun and Games
Four Seasons’ Topgolf Swing Suite is a unique amenity built for laughs, downtime and even a little exercise. The two suites can be divided or reserved together, with each suite accommodating up to six guests and containing a virtual fairway. What makes this experience special are the ten different games that can be played, only three being golf-related. From the quarterback challenge, where players throw a football to the virtual screen in order to find a wide receiver for a touchdown, to zombie dodgeball where players defend their backyard farm by throwing dodgeballs at zombies to earn points, there is something for everyone. All of these games can be enjoyed with excellent food and service from Bayou & Bottle.
A sweet escape
If you’re looking for a secret location to grab some drinks at the end of the day, there’s nothing that beats finding a hidden bar behind a bookshelf. Bandista is a speakeasy at Four Seasons Houston with engaging bartenders and a wide selection of artistic cocktails (tell them what you like and sit back while they create a personalized cocktail). Make a reservation for the popular bar on the weekends.
Toro Toro is a deluxe steakhouse run by artistic Chef Richard Sandoval. Start your night with the swordfish dip topped on tortilla & plantain chips, the empanadas, and the short rib tacos. The salmon with a kimchee marinade and bacon morita chili jam holds its own to the carnivore short ribs. La Bomba is their signature dessert that gets dropped on the table (hence the name) with assorted ice creams, brownies, berries, and sauces.
So many things to discover at Discovery Green
Artwork, music, playgrounds: Discover Discovery Green in the epicenter of Houston. It is conveniently located a block from the Four Seasons Hotel Houston, between Toyota Center and Minute Maid Park. This 12-acre park receives millions of visitors every year, mostly to its 500+ free events. Whether guests arrive to enjoy the winter skating rink, spring roller rink or just the expanding picnic culture, the rolling green lawns and shade trees beckon.
The park has free live Jazz music called Jazzy Sundays (5-7 p.m.) and “Screen on the Green” which features movies on a blow-up screen at the mid-size amphitheater.
Free yoga classes on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. don’t require any pre-registration and are a great way to experience the outdoors after a long workday, while also building community among other Houstonians and visitors. Additionally, experience some of Texas’ finest and most family-friendly public artwork including the Mistree, a mist created by eighty nozzles that form a mist cloud in the bowl of the stainless-steel sculpture. We were wowed by the Listening Vessel artwork that you must visit to understand.
Take a Journey at Traveler’s Table
Travelers Table is a travel lover’s dream restaurant, delivering a concept of globally curated cuisine with a unique twist from owners Thy and Matthew Mitchell. This bustling restaurant impressed with menus fashioned after a travel journal embedded with some of our favorite travel quotes.
The entrees represent three unique areas of our world. Travel through food with dishes like Tea Smoked Duck from the Far East & Indian region or the restaurant’s famous Lamb Gnocchi from the African and Mediterranean regions. Modernizing and elevating traditional dishes, the award-winning Traveler’s Table is a great stop for brunch (Friday through Sunday) or dinner (any night).
Keep an eye out for their new restaurant, Traveler’s Cart, this summer, featuring global street food in a more fast-casual setting.
Fill the Pit in your Stomach
The Pit Room, found off Richmond Avenue near St. Thomas University, lures diners in with a meal that you can smell before you see.
The hero of the restaurant is their patio, the ideal spot to nosh on perfectly seasoned and grilled BBQ meats. Fill up on a two-meat plate– we recommend the standard brisket and sausage with sides of potato salad, green beans, or mac-and-cheese.
Enter the Oasis of Ostia
Known for its classy dining rooms and air-conditioned outdoor terraces, Ostia is a gem in central Houston. Under the direction of Chef Travis McShane, Ostia serves a variety of Mediterranean cuisines with a sprinkling of Italian. Even though their menu is subject to change with seasons, you can never go wrong with any of their pizzas, especially the Margherita pizza with tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese. For a lighter choice, the chicken salad on croissant is a winner, while the heavier bucatini wins hearts!
