When life gets hectic, a relaxing beach vacation is a good way to reset. The sound of crashing waves always seems to clear the mind and drown out the noise of a busy life. Myrtle Beach is the ideal place to unwind for a few days. Whether you’re looking to tee it up on the greens or relax with a good book on the sandy beaches, this resort town on South Carolina’s Atlantic coast is known for its gorgeous beaches and over 90 golf courses.

The Westgate Myrtle Beach is the perfect resort for your next trip to the “Grand Strand”, as South Carolina’s 60-mile stretch of beaches is called. You’ll enjoy plenty of beach time at this full-service, oceanfront resort, which is also steps away from Myrtle Beach’s famed Boardwalk where you’ll find a variety of souvenir shops, restaurants, Ripley’s attractions and amusement parks.

Accommodations at the resort include traditional guest rooms, as well as newly-renovated villas. The spacious villas, which are perfect for families, come with one or two bedrooms and provide plenty of room for a relaxing stay. Each villa has a fully-equipped kitchen, living area, bedroom, bathroom and balcony. Request one with an ocean view so that you can enjoy your morning coffee on the balcony while watching the waves crash on the beach.

The Westgate Myrtle Beach will keep you entertained with a variety of activities during your stay. For those who like to maintain their exercise routine while on vacation, the fitness center provides treadmills and weight training equipment, or sign up for one of the pilates or water aerobics classes. The resort also has a heated pool, lazy river and a water play area for children.

Other activities include crafts in the Activities Center (woodburning, wine glass painting, nail art), Bingo by the Beach, and Seashell Hunts. You might also be lucky enough to find a shark tooth!

When hunger hits, head to Drafts Sports Bar & Grill located in the Tower for burgers or sandwiches. You can also order a variety of draft and bottled beers and a variety of cocktails from the bar. Since the resort is located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, you’ll find several additional dining options nearby. Just down the road from the Westgate Myrtle Beach, Wicked Tuna is a popular restaurant for an oceanfront dining experience offering fresh “hook to plate” seafood and handmade cocktails. Rip Tydz, on the famed Boardwalk, is another favorite oceanfront grille with a variety of surf and turf options on the menu.

Myrtle Beach offers many activities for the whole family. For a unique experience, take a riverboat cruise along the Intracoastal Waterway on the riverboat, The Barefoot Queen. Reserve a lunch or dinner cruise and enjoy live musical entertainment and a narrated tour on the charming paddlewheel boat.  After your riverboat cruise, visit the nearby Barefoot Landing, a fun shopping & entertainment district. Browse through unique boutiques and popular chain stores or check out the calendar for a schedule of live entertainment. Next door to the resort, you can’t miss the Family Kingdom Amusement Park with more than 38 thrilling rides. A ferris wheel by the sea stirs up nostalgia in kids of all ages. Whether you’re looking for relaxation or a little adventure, Myrtle Beach is the perfect getaway for any time of the year.
