There’s a certain level of sophistication and counter-cultural self-awareness that sets Mexico City apart from other summer destinations.
With ideal temperatures hovering between 70 and 85 degrees, a thriving gastronomy scene, and a region rich in museums, historical sites, and vibrant urban green spaces, Mexico City presents a refreshing alternative to summer’s exhausting beach scenes, theme parks, and sweltering heat waves. No other hotel exemplifies this better than Alexander Hotel.

Proving that you don’t always need a resort-style pool, Alexander Hotel embodies everything wonderful about this cultural hub. It’s a sophisticated, stylish, sexy, and surprisingly comfortable summer alternative that fits perfectly within The Leading Hotels of the World portfolio, joining other notable properties like Texas’s The Joule Dallas and Hotel Granduca Houston.
Refined Elegance, Exceptional Hospitality

Opened in 2024 in the vibrant Lomas de Chapultepec community, Alexander Hotel expertly integrates various touchpoints throughout the property to provide an unparalleled guest experience. It begins the moment you’re greeted at the street-level elevator of the iconic Torre Virreyes skyscraper. This avant-garde architectural marvel overlooks Mexico City’s new financial district and the urban greenspace of Bosques de Chapultepec, creating the ideal setting for the building’s hotel and corporate office tenants. A luxurious window display of room décor signals you’re nearing your destination as an Alexander Hotel ambassador awaits, ensuring that you’ve arrived at the place to be.

Upon entering the lobby from the private elevator, you are warmly welcomed by a refined palette that exudes modern elegance. From the sleek onyx bar top and ebony hardwood flooring to the minimalist lighting and slanted windows allowing natural light to filter in, this communal space feels both inviting and intimate. The 24-hour reception desk exemplifies the hotel’s standard-setting customer service, ensuring that every interaction with the staff is memorable. Letecia, Yerik, and Sergio established new standards of hospitality during my stay, each providing a level of attentive service, local insight, and culinary expertise that is truly unique. In addition to this exceptional service, Alexander Hotel offers private drivers and luxury cars for your days and nights out in one of the world’s most dynamic cities.
Spacious Accommodation, Intimate Setting

The boutique offering of Alexander Hotel’s twenty-six suites delivers a unique level of exclusivity that inspires playful sophistication during your stay. Designed by architect Daniel Álvarez, each room is sleek yet not stiff, and spacious without sacrificing intimacy.

There’s an unrivaled luxury coziness evident in the details at hand. From the custom-made leather furniture crafted by Ferrari artisans to the high ceilings featuring floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the beautiful neighborhood, and the rare illuminating white marble in the flooring, bathroom vanity, and shower, each space is created to offer much-deserved relaxation and bespoke comfort.

The glass enclosure of the bathroom vanity evokes modern elegance. The crystal-clear glass provides moments of personal reflection through discreet lighting, clean lines, and indulgent space. Amenities such as Dyson hair dryers, plush Madison Collection hair wraps, and soothing waffle bathrobes accompany each bathroom, complemented by contemporary features like automated curtains that enclose the bathroom space for added privacy. This sort of intuitive design anticipates your every need and desire, ensuring a remarkable stay that will resonate for years.
Caviar Bar: The First in Mexico City

The first of its kind in Mexico City, Alexander Hotel’s Caviar Bar is a trendsetting lounge that combines the innovative vision of Mexico’s finest mixologist, Mica Rosseau, with an exceptional, worldly menu crafted by Executive Chef Anna Sophia Serrano. Renowned for its outstanding selection of Petrossian caviar, Caviar Bar offers guests and visitors an elevated culinary and cocktail experience in an open and inviting atmosphere, featuring lounge chairs and low tabletops to encourage leisurely dinners and laid-back vibes with drinks throughout the night.

Caviar Bar’s Chef’s Experience is a delightful showcase of the menu’s flagship dishes, starting with a house specialty, the Alexander Martini. This robust, dry martini is exclusively crafted with Belvedere 10 Vodka, making it unavailable anywhere else in Mexico City. The perfect blend of premium vodka and vermouth pairs wonderfully with the first dish: a chilled oyster topped with a dollop of caviar.

One of the following bites featured salmon cured for thirteen hours, resting atop a pillow of crème fraîche and a blini crepe — a perfect marriage of citrus and crème. Adorned with salmon eggs and edible flowers, this bite bursts with flavor and texture, inviting you to savor all the sensations.

The mini hamburger features a perfectly cooked Wagyu patty, medium-rare, and rests on a bed of creamy truffle sauce. The full-course option comes with a side of robust truffle fries and is a safe bet for any non-adventurous foodies. Rounding out the experience is an innovative dessert; a smooth quenelle of truffle ice cream topped with thin truffle shavings and cookie crumbles.

In addition to dinner, Caviar Bar is the perfect place to start your day with morning breakfasts, especially on weekends, where a continental spread of delightful fresh fruits, pastries, and granola awaits. Order a freshly pressed juice to jumpstart your morning, or pop in or a midday drink after exploring Mexico City’s historic sights and green spaces. End your night with a cocktail and bar snacks. The warm lighting and floor-to-ceiling city views provide the ideal opportunity to unwind and be present. Reserve your dinner here.

Nearby Attractions

Mexico City is a culinary destination. From innovative chefs redefining modern cuisine in upscale restaurants to savvy street vendors sizzling meats curbside, there’s no shortage of delectable bites. With endless possibilities, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. La Terraza, in the contemporary and hip Mondrian Mexico City Condesa, eases that burden.

Situated in Mondrian’s open-air courtyard, La Terraza combines Mexico City’s delightful summer weather with a lively ambiance that reflects a cosmopolitan coziness. The menu offers a fresh array of small plates, salads, entrees, and chef-inspired tacos, all seamlessly complementing the artistic, urban vibes of the La Condesa neighborhood.

Recommended starters include guacamole with chicharrónes and cotija cheese for a crispy, indulgent snack that isn’t too heavy. Alternatively, try the Homemade Empanadas with poblano pepper for a heartier option. There’s no wrong choice when it comes to the taco selection, especially since the culinary team at La Terraza blends classic Mexican flavors with European and Asian influences. The Fish Taco is an excellent example, featuring tempura-battered fish, pickled cabbage, jalapeño aioli, and an herb salad. You might also consider the Al Pastor Octopus, served with avocado cream and pineapple, along with the Lengua taco, which showcases confit lengua accompanied by habanero aioli and pickled onion.

All in the area

Alexander Hotel’s elevated comfort and distinguished hospitality are only matched by its unique location in the city. With Bosque de Chapultepec right outside the tower’s entrance, you’re just minutes away from miles of walkways through urban gardens, historic sites, and paths full of street vendors. Additionally, within a short walk from the doors of Torre Virreyes is the Museo de Historia Natura l— or Museum of Natural History — a collection of exhibits that represent Mexico’s biodiversity and the historical narrative of the land.

Take an Uber or reserve a bike at the Alexander Hotel to reach Chapultepec Castle in minutes. Then, make your way up the hill where the castle is located. The short but steep walk immerses you in the lush forest as you ascend above the pine treetops to arrive at this national landmark, which showcases an era of classical Spanish architecture and opulence. Purchase your admission for the National Museum of History and explore a rich depiction of Mexico City’s tumultuous past, from the Aztec empire to Spanish colonization to 20th-century social uprisings.
