Whether you’ve been doing cruises your whole life or you’re a newbie planning your first voyage with friends or family, MSC World America deserves a spot at the top of your travel list. Mark your calendars — MSC Cruises sets sail from Galveston starting November 2025!
If you’ve ever dreamed of sailing on a ship that feels like you’re floating in a completely different world – I’m talking world-class fine dining, endless entertainment, tropical escapes at every corner – then MSC World America is your perfect match.

MSC Cruises is the world’s third largest cruise line, and specifically designed with the North American guest in mind. The ship features plenty of unique restaurants, bars, and thrilling experiences that seamlessly blend European design with American comfort.
Star-Studded Ship Reveal

I’m grateful I had the incredible opportunity to attend the ship’s naming ceremony and first celebratory sailing in Miami. And let me tell you – MSC Cruises set the bar high for cruising. From the dazzling new terminal at Port Miami to the unforgettable overnight stop at their private island Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, every moment was a memorable preview of what modern cruising should be.

If you were watching the Super Bowl commercials, you might’ve seen MSC Cruises first-ever “Let’s Holiday” Super Bowl ad, featuring actors Drew Barrymore and Orlando Bloom. I should’ve known that they were going to pop up and make a surprise appearance in Miami. After all, Drew is the Godmother of the cruise line’s ship.

Following the ceremony, the sky was beautifully lit over the ocean with an incredible visually stunning drone show – the perfect finale for the official launch of MSC World America!
Where You’ll Stay & Play

The ship has over 2,614 cabins with more than 20 different cabin types – ranging from luxury suites and balcony cabins with stunning ocean views to connecting family cabins. The iconic ship is divided into seven distinct districts, each with its own unique atmosphere and experiences. These districts include: Zen Area, Family Aventura, Aqua Deck, MSC Yacht Club, Promenade, Galleria, and The Terraces.

MSC Yacht Club
For those who are wanting an elevated experience on the ship, check out MSC Yacht Club. The “ship-within-a-ship” concept offers guests a range of private facilities, exclusive privileges and personalized service.

Some of the privileges include key card–only access to 152 spacious suites, priority boarding, 24 hour butler service, and exclusive shore excursions, the list goes on. I absolutely loved the panoramic lounge with killer 360 views and gorgeous Swarovski crystal staircase. This is where you go when you need a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the ship.
Endless Fun

There’s so much to do on board, I don’t even know where to begin. Let’s start with the moment my jaw dropped: The Cliffhanger. Located in the Family Aventura District, the only over-water swing ride at sea features a four seat swing towering 160 feet above the ocean, propelling you back-and-forth. This one-of-a-kind thrill ride will leave you on the edge of your seat (literally). (This is a must-try experience, so try not to chicken out!)

Also located in the Family Aventura District is The Harbour where you’ll find a lighthouse playground with a slide, high trail ropes course, rock climbing, and The Harbour bar bites restaurant. Kids will also love The Harbour Aqua Park, which includes four waterslides — one trapdoor slide that literally feels like you’re dropping straight down, and one raft slide with VR technology. I lost count how many times I went on that raft slide; I thought the VR technology was so cool. (It really felt as if I was sliding through a jungle!)

Guests with kids will probably find themselves spending a lot of time here, but I promise you’ll love it just as much as the kids. You have over six spectacular pools and 14 whirlpools to choose from when it comes to soaking up the sun. Lounge by the pool with upbeat music, refreshing drinks and snacks to keep the party going

If you’re feeling active, the Sportplex (a spacious multipurpose sports arena) offers basketball, tennis, football, volleyball, pickleball, hoverboards, rollerskating, bumper cars, and much more.
Speaking of jaw dropping – if you’re still feeling the thrill – you have to check out the Jaw Drop slide at The Spiral in the Promenade District. This is one of the longest dry slides at sea, taking riders through the jaws of a shark, spiraling down 11 decks. I didn’t get a chance to try this unfortunately, but it was one of my biggest regrets. Don’t be like me!

Kid Fun
What makes this ship truly special is how well it caters to both adults and kids. Designed with families in mind, it features dedicated spaces throughout — including Doremiland, a 10,000+ sq. ft. area with separate clubs for babies, young children, tweens, and teens. Every child gets their own fun, age-appropriate space — making it a win for the whole family!

The littles will love the LEGO experiences – like the LEGO Parade, LEGO Family Zone where parents and children can play together, and the LEGO Game Show – an exhilarating family team challenge in Luna Park where guests compete as true Master Builders with timed challenges and unexpected twists. (They’ll absolutely love this one!)
Endless Entertainment

When it comes to entertainment, there’s never a dull moment on board. MSC World America offers incredible shows that take the stage at the World Theatre, Panorama Lounge, and Luna Park Arena.

One of the signature favorites on the ship is “Dirty Dancing in Concert” (located in the World Theatre), a unique at-sea performance of the classic film soundtrack, brought to life by talented singers, dancers and musicians. This is another must-try experience! I also enjoyed “Hall of Fame,” the ultimate live pop concert, showcasing iconic music and unforgettable moments of pop legends. You’ll be singing and dancing along to every song!
At the Panorama Lounge is Cinesonic, and another favorite of mine, Queen Symphonic. This exclusive version of the international hit concert “Queen Rock Symphonic” showcases Queen’s greatest hits performed by a live rock band, alongside phenomenal singers, musicians, dancers, and heart-stopping acrobats.

Luna Park is the go-to venue for daytime and nighttime activities. Daytime activities include dance classes, movies, and VR experiences, while nighttime activities include family and kids parties and game shows. Adults, if you’re looking for a “club” to dance the night away, Miami Nights is the spot!
Wellness Experiences
MSC Aurea Spa

It’s not a vacation if you’re not relaxing and being pampered at the spa! With over a dozen thermal experiences and more than 20 treatment rooms, the MSC Aurea Spa is one of the most luxurious and expansive wellness retreats at sea.
Enjoy a Balinese massage, soothing sauna, thermal experience (designed to slowly raise your body temperature while you relax) or try something new like high-tech beauty treatments. As soon as you walk in the relaxation area you will feel like you just discovered a hidden oasis at sea. The star-like ceiling lights combined with the illuminated waterfall in the hydrotherapy area create a soothing and peaceful atmosphere.

You’ll want to try one or more of the Spa’s thermal areas, such as the sauna, sensory steam rooms, heat baths, Himalayan salt relaxation, and the Snow Room. (Yes, REAL snow designed to mimic the cold temperatures!)
If you’re still feeling the zen, head to the Zen Area (Deck 18) where this adults-only exclusive oasis is designed for sunbathing and swimming, along with panoramic ocean views guaranteed to help you rejuvenate and unwind.

To keep the wellness vibes going, get your run on at the expansive onboard gym, equipped with a 328-metre-long Power Walking Track, and complete with personal training sessions and organized classes throughout the cruise.
In the mood to shop till you drop? From souvenirs and toys to fine jewelry and luxurious watches, MSC World America features plenty of vibrant shopping boutiques.
Where to Eat Onboard
As you already know by now, there’s so much to do on board. The same goes for dining and drinks, but I’ll mention some notable favorites.

With over 19 restaurants on board, Eataly at Sea is the only Eataly restaurant at sea and offers authentic Italian. Photo Ivan Sarfatti for MSC Cruises
With over 19 restaurants on board, Eataly at Sea is the only Eataly restaurant at sea, and offers authentic Italian cuisine. The menu has some of the brand’s most beloved dishes, as well as items exclusively offered on board. They even have six different shaped varieties of pasta!

Another favorite (including Orlando’s) is Paxos Restaurant, a new Greek restaurant and multi-service venue that offers a fresh, seafood-forward menu. This fan-favorite taverna boasts over 20 different types of fish and seafood for grilling.

I love a good steak, so I enjoyed dining at Butcher’s Cut, a traditional American-style steakhouse. Standout sauces include smoked maple butter, peppercorn, bearnaise (butter and egg yolk) and chimichurri sauces.

We also enjoyed La Brasserie Buffet, which offers a wide variety of food and dessert options, including vegan-friendly meals to satisfy every craving.

For those who want a quick bite, some dining-on-the-go options are available, like The Harbour Bar & Bites, Promenade Bites, Luna Park Pizza & Burger (also open until 2 a.m. for late night bites), and Paxos on the Go.
Save Room for Dessert

Your sweet tooth will surely be satisfied when you stop by Sweet Temptations, offering a grand assortment of over 20 different candy shapes and flavors. Choose from over 10 different ice cream and frozen yogurt flavors. Jean-Philippe Maury Chocolat & Cafe is also another great choice for custom chocolate, coffee, and other treats.

Drinks & Lounges on Deck
From locally crafted beers to European-inspired flavors, there are 18 bars and lounges on board to choose from.

The All-Stars Sports Bar is the perfect spot to grab and drink and watch your favorite game with all-American flair. Try those wings that Drew spoke so highly of. (I wish I did!)
The Loft is where you go when you want to sing and dance! There are dueling pianos, comedy shows, karaoke, and entertainment running past midnight for the night owls. Masters of the Sea boasts 12 different draft beers including three brews on board.
TIP: Word on the sea is that there’s a secret speakeasy on board – ask the right crew member and you just might find it!
Private Island Fun

As much as there is to enjoy on board, the experience goes beyond the ship – the adventure continues ashore at MSC’s stunning private island in the Bahamas, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. Every Bahamas cruise allows access to this private island. Clear water, sunny skies – your very own private island oasis – what more can you ask for!
You’ll have a full day (or even two!) to soak up the sun and explore. From glow paddleboarding in the lagoon and beachside volleyball to snorkeling with stingrays and sharks or enjoying a sunset picnic on the sand — Ocean Cay has something for every kind of traveler to make your experience memorable and unforgettable. (There’s even a transport pavilion for people who need a ride around the island that’s very well paved and accessible).

My adrenaline was pumping diving into crystal-clear waters actively looking for lemon sharks and stingrays. (Shoutout to Lifeguard Frank who kept pointing them out!)
The fun continues into the night, as the cruise frequently hosts all-white parties on the private island. Be sure to come dressed to impress in your best all-white outfit and get ready to dance the night away!

Another unique experience you can’t miss: the lighthouse show on the island! The show features a light show synchronized to music, making the lighthouse the star of the show, and even gives a glimpse of the health of the water.
Whether you’re searching for a relaxing tropical escape or an action-packed adventure, MSC World America invites you to experience a new world of cruising – where every day is specially made for you and every moment feels like more than just a vacation.
