Sitting in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, The Worthington Renaissance Hotel breathes sophistication and perfectly woven Texan roots.

From business trips to girls’ weekends, guests will find a stay that fits their pace, with the hum of Cowtown just outside the lobby doors.

Stepping into the lobby of The Worthington Renaissance Hotel, we were greeted with a warm, modern atmosphere. Tall ceilings and sleek architecture bring a sophistication, while decorative nods to Texan culture make the space memorable. Open seating encourages conversation and invites guests to linger, while private work spaces provide a spot for productivity. There’s a quiet, comforting energy throughout the space, balancing elegance with comfort, and setting the tone for a cozy yet polished stay.

Along with its welcoming ambiance, the lobby offers a variety of options. Corrida, the hotel’s corner coffee spot, serves La Colombe coffee and quick bites, everything you need to ease into your morning. Just steps away, the Toro Toro lobby bar serves cocktails and appetizers, quietly inviting you in for dinner at the restaurant or offering a spot to have a drink and relax.

I appreciated the lobby’s dynamic atmosphere: cozy in the mornings, productive and social during the day, and intimate in the evenings. It helped set the tone for the hotel, giving it the feel of a local hangout, rather than just a place to stay.

Restful Rooms

The suite served as a peaceful retreat amid a lively downtown scene. The spacious layout, complete with modern furnishings and touches of Texan-inspired decor, created a space that was both comforting and stylish. Each room is thoughtfully curated, with large windows that let natural light fill the room and offer a view of the city below.

Beyond their visual appeal, every suite includes practical features for an effortless stay. Desks and complimentary Wi-Fi cater to business travelers, while coffee stations and mini-fridges provide convenience for longer stays. The bathrooms are stocked with high-quality toiletries, rainfall showers, and plush towels for a spa-like touch. Each thoughtful detail added to the luxurious atmosphere, creating a space that was both elegant and inviting.

Toro Toro Pan-Latin Steakhouse, from internationally acclaimed Chef Richard Sandoval, will be the staple of your Worthington stay. The restaurant celebrates the unique flavors and dining culture of Central and South America, offering a twist on the contemporary steakhouse. Each dish is meant to be family-style, and pairs wonderfully with the Latin cocktails, mojitos, and margaritas that they serve. The beautifully rustic dining room welcomes you in with warm lighting and soft music, a space that complements the hotel’s overall atmosphere.

The lunch buffet features fresh options that highlight both Latin flavors and comfort foods, allowing guests to mix and match plates for a customized meal. When we sat down to try it for ourselves, the menu featured fresh fruit, garlic pasta, parmesan crostini, cilantro lime rice, shrimp cocktail, salad, and three protein options

What made the experience memorable was the restaurant staff. The servers were knowledgeable, happy to suggest dishes, and attentive throughout our meal. When we ordered dessert, our server recommended “La Bomba,” one of the most popular picks. It was definitely the highlight of the experience. If you have time for one meal while you’re in town, I suggest you make it Toro Toro.

Activities and Attractions

The location of The Worthington makes it the perfect home base for exploring Fort Worth. It sits on the edge of Sundance Square, which offers a variety of shops, restaurants, galleries, and nightlife. You can also find Bass Performance Hall and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth within walking distance for a dose of entertainment. Only an eight-minute drive away, the Stockyards also offer plenty of entertainment with their longhorn cattle drives, live music, country dancing, and more.

If outdoor activities are more your speed, the Fort Worth Water Gardens and Trinity Trails are nearby, and offer scenic walks and biking trails. Similarly, the Fort Worth Zoo and Botanic Gardens are fun daytime attractions that are essential to a weekend itinerary.

For an evening in, The Worthington offers amenities that encourage both relaxation and socialization. My personal favorite, and a must-try, is the rooftop cinema. The night we went, we saw “50 First Dates” – an obvious classic. Set on one of the hotel’s terraces, the cinema offers an open-air viewing experience complete with skyline views, movie snacks, and an intimate atmosphere perfect for friends and family.

The setup features stadium style seating, blankets and heaters for colder days, and headphones for uninterrupted audio. Moviegoers can order snacks and drinks directly to their seats, making for an easy and comfortable experience.

By the end of our stay, The Worthington left a lasting impression of liveliness and comfortability, rooted in Texan culture and a stay that made our weekend feel special.
