Nestled in the modestly unassuming city of Westlake Village, CA, the Westlake Village Inn & Spa is a spot you don’t want to miss.

Located in the Conejo Valley, halfway between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, the 17-acre Italianate resort is the optimal choice for anyone looking for a quaint —and quite — getaway.
The hotel draws its inspiration from Tuscan villas, so you’ll notice all those Italianate details—terra-cotta-colored walls, ramrod-straight Cypress trees, earthy, tiled floors, and wooden gazebos, not to mention buildings with names like “Tuscany,” “Portofino,” and “Capri.”

Dining
There are three restaurants on the property, Stonehaus, Vista Terrace and Mediterraneo.
Mediterraneo is the Inn’s signature restaurant, and it’s a bistro-style restaurant serving locally sourced ingredients. Vista Terrace is for those of you looking for small bites and delicious cocktails while enjoying live music. This restaurant doubles as a nightclub and is a fantastic spot for happy hour. Stonehaus, my favorite of the three, is a coffee house by morning that then transitions into a European-style winery as the day progresses into the evening. It’s nestled in its own vineyard, where you can enjoy a woodfired pizza, small bites, and even a private wine tasting.
If you’re too zonked to make it to any of the restaurants on the property, I’d say, you can certainly make a night of ordering room service, drinking some wine outside, watching a bit of television, and finishing the evening by having a soak in the freestanding tub in your room.

Spa Time
Now let’s talk about the Spa Relais. Choose to spend an hour or an entire day here. You won’t regret it. While staying at the hotel, I had the opportunity to visit the spa for a treatment. Choose from your usual spa treatments, like a Swedish massage or something more unique like a Vichy shower, which is a hot-and-cold water massage. When booking a treatment at the Spa Relais, you get access to a private pool only available to those who have a treatment at the spa or have a spa room reservation at the hotel.
It’s important to note that some things at the Inn are closed on Monday and Tuesday — including the Spa Relais and a few restaurants on the property. So plan your stay accordingly.
