Just about 15 miles outside of Asheville, North Carolina, you’ll find a tranquil spot for relaxation and peacefulness called Mountain Springs Cabins in Candler. You wouldn’t really know that this oasis existed if you didn’t have it on your radar screen because it’s a bit hidden off the main drag.
Coming from Texas, you’ll be enamored with all of the greenery, grass and trees, and most of the cabins look out on a serene babbling creek (Mountain Springs).
Part of RVC Outdoor Destinations, which has fairly rustic RV and cabin resorts sprinkled all over the US but primarily in the southeastern states, Mountain Springs Cabins is a real jewel.
Between a rock and a pretty place
Guests can choose from 13 cabins, 2 tiny homes and 5 yurts.
The cabins sleep anywhere from two up to nine, and many people will rent out side-by-side cabins for big gatherings, such as family reunions or groups of families who want to travel together.
The tiny homes both sleep two and the yurts sleep from 4 to 12 with the largest featuring five sets of bunk beds. Each of the yurts has its own private bathroom at the bathhouse which is a really nice feature. You’ll find grills and fire pits sprinkled throughout the property but especially in the yurt village.
Cabin 9 features a king size bed, small living area with a fireplace, separate bathroom and a large indoor jacuzzi tub in the back. This cabin, like them all, offers a fold out sofa for extra sleeping if needed.
Into the mountains
Being only 15 miles from Asheville, there is so much to do if you want to be more adventurous then just relaxing at this pleasant property. Mountain Springs Cabins is 17 miles from the Biltmore Estate and very close to the famous Blue Ridge Parkway, known for the fall’s turning of the leaves and mountain biking.
This is an ideal escape for a couple looking for a romantic getaway, a family with young kids (there’s a small playground, plenty of spots to get in the creek, and a library of board games and DVD movies for check out, in addition to lots of sporting equipment), a family reunion, groups of families who enjoy traveling together, or even a girls weekend.
The beauty and peacefulness of the property will surely bring us back again.
