Whether you’re planning a romantic road trip, a friends’ getaway, or just want to experience something truly off the beaten path, this is the kind of event you’ll talk about long after the last song fades.

Deep in the heart of West Texas, a special tradition has emerged in the tiny railroad town of Valentine, Texas — Valentine’s in Valentine. With an estimated population of just 73 residents, this blink-and-you’ll-miss-it town transforms once a year into one of Texas’ most memorable Valentine’s Day celebrations.

Tickets are officially live for the 14th Annual Valentine’s in Valentine, happening on actual Valentine’s Day — Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. On this one magical day, Valentine welcomes more than 1,500 visitors from near and far for a full-blown celebration with lots of Texas music, boot scootin’, and hometown charm.

Part of what makes Valentine’s in Valentine so special is its reputation: unique, exclusive, and not so easy to get to. The festival unfolds at the town’s iconic Old Mercantile, a refurbished 1907 general store, surrounded by endless desert and big West Texas skies.

It’s not a massive, overproduced music festival — it’s intimate, soulful, and feels more like a gathering of old friends than a concert. Rain or shine, snow or swelter, the show goes on, adding to the authenticity that’s built its cult-like following.

This year’s lineup continues the tradition of blending legendary talent with local flavor and genre-crossing sound. Headlining is Shinyribs, Austin’s swamp-funk and Southern soul favorite known for joyous, dance-everywhere live shows.

Also taking the stage are Grand Tourists, Marfa’s own feel-good folk and roots rock band; Slim Brown Trucker Band, bringing gritty country-rock swagger; Doodlin’ Hogwallops, Alpine’s funkytonk honky-tonk crowd-pleasers; Los Arcos Hermanos Peña, Texan Conjunto legends and Tejano R.O.O.T.S. Hall of Fame inductees with award-winning accordion; and The Roswells, serving up nostalgic western swing and classic honky-tonk.

Over the years, Valentine’s in Valentine has hosted an impressive roster of Texas music royalty, including Jerry Jeff Walker, Joe Ely, Little Joe y Familia, Junior Brown, Jimmie Vaughan, and Shane Smith & The Saints, cementing its reputation as a must-play stage for artists who define the Texas sound.

So mark your calendars and start making plans to head to Valentine each February. It’s part journey, part destination – and 100% memorable.
