The first thing you notice when you walk into STIRR is the staircase with “Live Simply, Dream Big, Be Grateful, Give Love, Laugh Lots”. After that you’ll take in the exposed brick walls and industrial, modern feel – all right at home in the Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas.

On a recent date night, I had the chance to explore STIRR’s new fall menu additions. We both started out with drinks from the bar. I had the delicious strawberry drink from their drink menu called “A Girl From Dallas”. I enjoy anything fruity and this drink had a pink topper made with fruit, so it couldn’t get much better. My friend ordered the STIRR Old Fashioned made with a delicious pour of Knob Creek Rye and mixed with brown sugar syrup and angostura bitters.

Next, we ordered an appetizer: Gorgonzola Waffle Fries—which were to die for. When they were set on the table I thought that we weren’t going to finish them. Well, I sure was wrong. We cleared the plate, every last little crumb. The sauce was creamy and all over the fries, unlike some places you go where the farther down you get, the less sauce there is on the food.

For dinner I ordered the Four Cheese Tortellini and added chicken to it at the suggestion of our waitress. It came with a side of truffle butternut squash and was topped with kale. I am usually not a huge squash fan but I was really surprised at my first bite. I was converted. The tortellini was wonderful and the chicken was a great addition. My friend ordered the Stout Braised Bison Osso Bucco and finished all of it. The meat was very tender, flavorful, and just fell apart in your mouth.

After eating so much food we were both unsure about dessert but we ended up agreeing to split one. We ordered an apple cobbler that was mixed with other berries and topped with ice cream. We ended up finishing most of it as well; and left extremely full and happy.

At STIRR, you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

From their Three Cheese Artichoke Dip to their flatbreads to any of the entrees—I have never tried anything on the menu that I did not like. If you ever have the chance to go up to the rooftop for a drink at night, I highly recommend it. It has a great view of the Dallas skyline and a fun atmosphere. They also have drinks that are only served on the rooftop that are worth trying.
