And when that sparkle blankets a gorgeous Hill Country ranch, you certainly can’t go wrong when you stop in to take part in the fun. At least not at Old West Christmas Light Fest, a holiday event sure to delight everyone at Enchanted Springs Ranch in Boerne.
To celebrate its fifth year in the lights and mark all of the new holiday fun people will enjoy, Christmas Light Fest is now Old West Christmas Light Fest, featuring both drive-thru displays and an Old West town sparkling with lights, family fun and holiday magic. Once you see the ranch, you’ll understand why “Enchanted” is such a perfect name. A hidden gem in Boerne, it’s just minutes from San Antonio and a short hop from anywhere in the Hill Country. The ranch hasn’t been open to the public in several years, but during Old West Christmas Light Fest, everyone is welcome to enjoy the Christmas magic that’s sure to be a holiday favorite for years to come.
Capturing historic Texas cowboy culture in every aspect, the 86-acre ranch delivers a true Texas experience from the minute you enter its gates. The rolling scenery of the Texas Hill Country, paired with an authentic Old West town nestled among live oaks and ranchland, makes the perfect setting for any celebration, especially a fantastic Hill Country Holiday.
Close your eyes and picture an iconic Old West town. Do you picture swinging saloon doors? How about an old post office, a jail, maybe a hardware store? What about a gravel paved town with rustic wood and paint? And of course, no Old West town would be complete without a jail, a post office and a church, all brought to life and decked out in lights for the holidays through Dec. 30th.
The fun unfolds 6 – 10 p.m. each Thursday through Sunday evening from Nov. 22nd through Dec. 16th, as well as EVERY night from Dec. 20th through Dec. 30th, including Christmas Eve and Christmas night.
Santa will be visiting his favorite Texas ranch every night Old West Christmas Light Fest is open through Christmas Eve. Bring your camera—there’s no charge for photos with Santa, making Old West Christmas Light Fest the place to be to get your picture-perfect holiday photo. Other activities include face painting, cookie decorating, a light maze for littles, a scavenger hunt, ornament decorating and holiday games to create twinkling memories.
If you forget to mention anything on your list when you’re sitting on Santa’s lap, visit the Old West post office to send him your Christmas wishes. And if you’re on the naughty list, be sure to avoid the Old West jail or you may get locked up! You can also shop Old West’s Mistletoe Market and enjoy holiday flavors at a variety of chuck wagons (Old West-speak for food trucks), so be sure to save room to fill your belly with holiday treats.
Don’t forget to say Merry Christmas to Santa’s Holly Jolly Herd, his flying Longhorns. What, you haven’t heard of the Holly Jolly Herd?!? Don’t you know Tinsel and Grazer and Garland and Ranger, Jingle and Duncan and Cindy Lou Moo, who is no more than two, so her mama Moo-bell is joining the crew, along with Manu? The party animals will probably sleep through the lights so they’re ready to fly on Christmas Eve, but they’re featured in Old West Christmas Light Fest’s scavenger hunt, so don’t forget to play when you visit.
Tickets for Old West Christmas Light Fest can be purchased online or at the gate.
