Line Up
ACL Fest is renowned for its stellar lineup, and this year is no exception. Prepare to be blown away by a diverse range of musical genres and superstar headliners such as Kendrick Lamar, Mumford and Sons, and the Foo Fighters. From rock legends and indie darlings to rap icons and EDM sensations, the festival promises an eclectic mix that caters to all musical tastes.
Here are a trio of artists you should make sure to circle on your festival schedule:
The Mars Volta– Formed after the breakup of At the Drive In, The Mars Volta is a progressive rock band from El Paso who last year released their first album in ten years simply titled, “The Mars Volta.” Then in April the band released “Que Dios Te Maldiga Mi Corazón,” which is a complete re-recording of their newly released “The Mars Volta.” The Mars Volta will play Friday on weekend one.
Tanya Tucker– This past April, the Country Music Hall of Fame announced three new inductees. Among that group was Texas’ own Tanya Tucker! This newly inducted Hall of Fame member and legendary queen of country will play both Saturdays.
Mt. Joy– This five-piece indie rock band hailing from Pennsylvania found success with their hit, “Silver Linings,” which reached number one on Billboards Triple A charts. Their new album, “Orange Blood” was released last year, and they will be on tour in the United States until the end of October, before starting the European leg of the tour. Mt. Joy will also play both Saturday nights during the festival.
ACL Eats
Austin is known for its food scene, and ACL Fest does not disappoint the foodie crowd. The festival features an impressive array of vendors offering a wide range of culinary delights. From gourmet food trucks serving up mouthwatering tacos to local BBQ joints dishing out finger-licking ribs, there’s something to satisfy every craving. Don’t forget to explore the Craft Beer Hall brought to you by Karbach Brewing Co., where you can sample some of the best local craft brews, as well as beers from around the Lonestar state. Not to be forgotten, college football fans can also pop in here to watch a few plays and check the scores of their favorite games in progress.
Eco-Friendly Initiatives
ACL Fest is committed to sustainability and eco-consciousness. The festival actively promotes green initiatives, such as recycling, composting, and reducing waste. Water refill stations are readily available to help festival goers stay hydrated, while minimizing plastic bottle usage. Be sure to bring your own refillable water bottle or camelback container. Austin Park Foundation will be on site once again this year with their Rock & Recycle program.
