The stars were big and bright in Austin this past weekend at the 2024 CMT Music Awards.
The 2024 awards show, hosted by Kelsea Ballerini, was held at the Moody Center in Austin on Sunday, April 7. Texas Lifestyle Magazine was there LIVE on the red carpet to bring you all the highlights.
You may have noticed lots of Red Solo Cups being toted around by your favorite country music stars. This was a tribute to late country great Toby Keith. Riley Green, Lukas Nelson and Roger Clemens served as presenters for tribute performances in an all-star “Red Solo Cup” salute.
Brooks & Dunn’s lasso “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” CMTMA first-timer Sammy Hagar rocked “I Love This Bar,” and Lainey Wilson brought a feminine touch to “How Do You Like Me Now” before all gathered on stage for a final “Whiskey For My Men, Beer For My Horses” “Red Solo Cup” salute.
Jelly Roll was the night’s big winner with his trifecta for performance of the year, video of the year and male video of the year.
Trisha Yearwood was recognized with the first “June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award” and premiered her new release “Put It in a Song.”
Keith Urban, who has the most performances by any artist at the CMT Music Awards, also premiered his new song “Straight Line.”
“Female Video of the Year” winner Lainey Wilson hit the CMT stage with a captivating journey through the tapestry of country living with a performance of her newest anthem “Country’s Cool Again.”
