Jon Wolfe traded in his professional weekday attire for a pair of cowboy boots, a cowboy hat and a steel-string guitar.
Growing up among the mountain ranges of Oklahoma, Wolfe was born with a passion for country music. Yet, his musical aspirations were put on the back burner when he went to work in the world of finance. Fate, however, had different plans for the commodities trader when he was relocated to the big Texas city of Houston.
Realizing this could be his last opportunity, Wolfe made the leap to pursue his passion and boyhood dream. Eventually, he’d move on to Austin where music is infused into the backbone of the culture.
Inspired by country music greats George Strait, Garth Brooks, Clint Black, Merle Haggard, Alan Jackson and Dwight Yoakam, Wolfe created his own style of music that fused a traditional sound with edgy, modern energy.
Wolfe’s albums naturally evolve into their own themes that excite both him and his team creatively. “Live at Gruene Hall” is Wolfe’s most recent creation, blending Texas hits from the first three albums, along with cover songs from his favorite artists.
Drawing on the nickname fans gave him years earlier, Wolfe recently decided to hop back onto the business saddle and combine his love for tequila and country music. Juan Lobo Tequila was launched in 2019.
After playing more than 400 live shows over the past four years, the Sooner state native has once again hit the road entertaining his loyal fans and making new ones along the way.
Catch Jon Wolfe live on tour this summer where his next stop will be Luckenbach on July 4th.
