This Art Deco-style eatery has great food, great drinks, a great environment, and gives off Great Gatsby vibes with a sophisticated twist.
As soon as you step foot into the The League Kitchen & Tavern, the art deco style will instantly make you think of the Roaring Twenties. Roaring forward a century, the bright blue walls, red booths, sleek geometric patterns and light pendants allow for a great backdrop for your next Instagram photo.
Vibe
The League is part of TC4 & Co., an Austin owned and operated restaurant group (think Tony C’s and Mighty Fine) led by partners Tony Ciola and Creed Ford IV. Located in the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave, this newest location marks the fourth in the greater Austin area. Open seven days a week, The League offers brunch, happy hour (12pm-7pm) and kids’ menu options.
The Roaring Twenties brought luxury and a sense of freedom and hopefulness. Co-owner Creed Ford IV says The League is a place today where guests can get away from their daily worries and spend a couple of hours enjoying the good life, something we could all use right now. And believe me, you’ll definitely live the good life with these delicious dishes from this chef-inspired, made-from-scratch menu.
Menu
Start with an order of the Fried Pickles, horseradish pickle chips smothered in wing sauce and topped with bleu cheese crumbles. Sweet yet spicy with a Southern kick! The breading is so flavorful and delicious. If pickles aren’t your thing, try the Meatloaf Bites or Smoked Salmon Deviled Eggs.
If you’re looking for something on the lighter side, the Cobb Salad is a great healthy option to satisfy your salad needs. For the main attraction, you’ll love the Steak Frites, a grilled coulotte cut with maitre d butter and hand-cut fries. Also try the Chipotle Glazed Meatloaf; I’m talking seriously elevated comfort food here. The rich jalapeño creamy gravy and shoe-string onions make the dish just the right amount of spicy. The portion is pretty big and—to be blunt—you’ll be (pleasantly) stuffed to the gills!
Craving a burger? You won’t regret chowing down on the Southern Burger, stuffed with bacon, Cheddar, Tabasco shoestring onions and Brooklyn bbq sauce. When they ask if you want to upgrade to Truffle Fries, the answer is always YES!
Libations & More
While you’re waiting for your food, check out The League’s wide selection of craft cocktails. There are modern creations like the Fredericksburg Ice Tea, vintage classics and a number of variations on a Moscow Mule (mule because of the kick from the ginger beer), alongside wines, and beer on draft, by the bottle or can.
Sip on their classic Margarita with freshly squeezed lime juice or the French 75, a cocktail made from gin, prosecco, simple syrup and lemon juice. There’s plenty of buzz-worthy options to choose from that are the bee’s knees!
Try to make room for dessert, as the Banana Pudding is so deliciously sweet. It’s light and airy, perfect after you’ve finished a big meal.
The restaurant is open for dine-in with tables spaced six feet apart. Reservations are available and walk-ins are welcome. Guests can also order takeout or delivery online.
