For the first time ever “Shark Tank,” the critically acclaimed and multi-Emmy® Award-winning reality show, aired live on ABC on September 23rd, 2022. Texas Lifestyle Magazine landed Shark Tank mentor Mark Cuban, who lives in Dallas, as the cover celebrity for our Spring 2015 print issue, which you can read here.

In this age of entrepreneurship, we’re big “Shark Tank” fans here in Texas and we’ve featured several Texas companies that have been featured on the hit show, including: Austinite Kendra Scott who served as a shark, Houston inventors of UnBuckleMe, and the co-authors of Kid Start-Up

Here are a few of our favorite Shark Tank Survivors, perfect for certain lucky folks on your holiday wish list.

The Banana Phone

We’re going BANANAS over this actual banana phone that utilizes bluetooth technology! The funny social media photos and videos are endless with this super unique gift. Need a funny gag gift for a white elephant? Or just a unique gift for that talkative teen? This phone is shaped like a slender banana that lets you talk, use SIRI and listen to music. Not only is it something to make you smile, but a part of the Banana Phone’s profits actually go to Gorilla Conservancy. Even Reese Witherspoon is a fan! $39.99

Ornament Hanger

We’re so impressed that this item was started by a 15-year old entrepreneur with an idea! Do you have cats, toddlers, or really memorable ornaments you want to ensure won’t fall off the tree? The Ornament Hangers are made to ensure those ornaments won’t come tumbling down off the holiday tree. Just replace the old string with the Ornament Hanger, hang it on the tree and zip it up to the branch for a tight hold. The string comes in all Christmas tree colors from green to red to gold. The Naqvi Brothers were featured twice on SharkTank at very young ages and their products took off. $24.99 for 4

 Solar Lanterns

After the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti, founders Anna Stork and Andrea Sreshta wanted to create a solution for the tent cities that have become dark and dangerous. The Solar Lantern was the solution to bring light back to Haiti. Their simple, solar rechargeable lantern is lightweight, easy to use, and less flammable than kerosene lanterns or candles. Perfect for exploring the great outdoors, lighting up pillow forts, and being prepared for power outages, the Solar Light gives light to your life. $75.00

One of the pleasures of publishing a lifestyle magazine like Texas Lifestyle Magazine is that we receive invitations to attend events, travel and review products. We accept and write about a small fraction of these offers, always with a view to what would be interesting or helpful to our readers. You may notice that our reviews are generally positive, which is because we don’t enjoy writing negative ones, and therefore choose only to write about the things we can recommend without reservation. Some we recommend, we receive an affiliate commission for at no additional cost to you. We’ve never received monetary compensation in exchange for a positive review.
