With the Holiday Season upon us, it’s a great time to pause, give thanks and reflect on what these celebrations are truly about.
Giving Tuesday, on Dec. 2, is a global movement that encourages people everywhere to give back to their communities. To help you get started, we’ve compiled a list of some of the many nonprofit organizations across Texas that you can support this Giving Tuesday.
AUSTIN
African American Youth Harvest Foundation
AAYHF provides vital resources, mentorship, and educational programs for youth and families in underserved Austin communities. Their goal is to break cycles of poverty and empower young people to reach their full potential through support, opportunity, and love. As their organization continues to grow, they need more support whether volunteering or donating to keep with the increasing demand.
Alzheimer’s Association Capital of Texas Chapter
This chapter provides support, education, and resources to families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia throughout Central Texas. They raise funds for vital research and offer compassionate guidance to help families navigate the challenges of the disease. Their “Respite Relief” program gives caregivers a much-needed break, helping to reduce stress and recharge while ensuring their loved ones are cared for.
Emancipet
Emancipet works to make veterinary care affordable and accessible for all pet owners. Through low-cost clinics, community outreach, and compassionate staff, they ensure pets receive the care they deserve—keeping our furry friends healthy and happy at a reasonable price.
I Live Here I Give Here
The I Live Here I Give Here campaign strengthens Austin’s culture of giving by connecting locals with local nonprofits that make the city thrive. They empower people to support causes they care about and uplift the entire community through the website Amplify Austin. With over 700 nonprofits in their database, this is an easy, accessible way to discover opportunities to give this Giving Tuesday.
Umlauf Sculpture Garden + Museum
The Umlauf Sculpture Garden + Museum has been providing art education and enriching our community for over 30 years. Umlauf’s mission is to cultivate community, curiosity, and connection through nature, contemporary artists, and the work of Charles Umlauf. Its vision is to become the epicenter of Austin’s cultural arts scene and provide enriching programs throughout our community.
BRYAN/COLLEGE STATION
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity in Bryan/College Station partners with families to build safe, affordable homes. With volunteer support and community donations, they make homeownership possible and help families build stability.
Brazos Valley Cares
Brazos Valley Cares provides financial assistance and resources to local veterans and their families. From emergency support to quality-of-life programs, they make sure those who served receive the care, respect, and help they’ve earned.
DALLAS/FORT WORTH
Alliance for Children
Alliance for Children works to protect children from abuse by coordinating investigations, providing counseling, and supporting families through every step of healing. Their mission is simple: give every child a chance to feel safe, heard, and protected.
Dallas CASA
Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) trains volunteers to stand up for abused and neglected children in the court system. Their advocates make sure every child has a voice and a fair chance at a safe, permanent home. This holiday season, through their Holiday Gift Giving campaign, Dallas CASA is seeking donations to help volunteers make Christmas special for children in the program. Each donation will help provide gifts or gift cards to a child.
Fort Worth Botanic Garden
The Fort Worth Botanic Garden is one of the leading public gardens in America. It was established in 1934 and is the oldest in Texas. Built to beautify the community, today it has grown to be a living museum, educational institution, and research center.
North Texas Food Bank
The North Texas Food Bank fights hunger by providing millions of meals each year to families across the region. Through food drives, community partnerships, and hunger-relief programs, they ensure neighbors have access to nutritious food when they need it most.
GEORGETOWN
Annunciation Maternity Home
With over 23 years under their belt, The Annunciation Maternity Home offers housing, education, and life-skills support for young mothers and mothers-to-be. Their warm, nurturing environment helps women build confidence, stability, and a strong foundation for their families.
Assistance League of Georgetown Area
The Assistance League is powered by volunteers who support local children and adults through programs like clothing drives, scholarships, and community services. Their hands-on approach brings comfort, dignity, and opportunity to neighbors in need.
Faith In Action – Driving Seniors
Faith in Action provides free transportation for seniors who can’t drive, helping them get to medical appointments, grocery stores, and community activities. They offer more than just rides; they provide companionship and a renewed sense of independence.
Isaiah 117 House
Isaiah 117 House provides physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home for children awaiting placement. The Williamson County house opened its doors on Sept. 6, 2025. Children often arrive at child welfare offices without any belongings. They may be scared, lonely, and hungry, wearing dirty clothes. Isaiah 117 provides a comforting home where they can wait with friendly volunteers who provide them with clean clothes, food and toys to play with. The mission of Isaiah 117 House is threefold:
- reduce trauma for children awaiting placement
- lighten the load for child welfare services
- ease the transition for foster families
HOUSTON
Emancipet
Emancipet Houston brings low-cost, high-quality veterinary care to local neighborhoods, ensuring every pet—regardless of their owner’s income—can stay healthy. Their friendly clinics and community programs help keep pets and families thriving.
Good Reason Houston
Good Reason Houston works to ensure every child in the city has access to a great public school. By partnering with districts, families, and communities, they help improve education quality and open doors to brighter futures.
Mental Health America of Greater Houston
Mental Health America of Greater Houston is dedicated to improving mental wellness for individuals and families across the region. Through education, advocacy, and programs that connect people to accessible mental-health resources, they help community members find support, reduce stigma, and take meaningful steps toward healing.
LUBBOCK
American Cancer Society – Hope Lodge
Hope Lodge in Lubbock provides free lodging for cancer patients and their caregivers while they undergo treatment. It’s a comforting, home-like space where families can rest, recharge, and focus on healing. They’re trying to reach a goal that is enough to provide approximately six more months of free lodging for their guests.
Make a Wish – South Plains
Make-A-Wish South Plains brings life-changing joy to children facing critical illnesses by granting heartfelt wishes. Their work gives families hope, strength, and unforgettable moments during challenging times.
Volunteer Center of Lubbock
The Volunteer Center connects people with meaningful service opportunities to uplift the community. Through leadership programs and nonprofit support, they provide residents the information to give back and create lasting change within the Lubbock community.
PFLUGERVILLE/ROUND ROCK
Ascension Seton Williamson Foundation
The Ascension Seton Williamson Foundation raises funds to enhance healthcare services in the Round Rock region. By supporting innovative programs, equipment, and patient care, they help ensure local families receive high-quality, compassionate medical support close to home.
Friends of the Pflugerville Animal Shelter, Inc
This volunteer-led group supports the local animal shelter through fundraising, fostering, and community outreach. Their efforts help pets get the second chance, care, and forever families they deserve.
Hope Alliance
Hope Alliance offers critical support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, providing emergency shelter, counseling, and advocacy. They help individuals rebuild their lives with safety, dignity, and compassion. As incidents of domestic and sexual violence continue to rise, their services are needed now more than ever.
SAN MARCOS
Hays County Food Bank
Hays County Food Bank provides nutritious food to individuals and families experiencing food shortages across Hays County. Through mobile pantries, emergency assistance, and community partnerships, they ensure neighbors always have access to healthy meals and support.
Help Keep the Lights On
Help Keep the Lights On is a new campaign in San Marcos that supports local families struggling with utility bills, offering financial assistance to prevent power shutoffs and keep homes safe and stable. Their mission is simple but vital: helping families stay warm, connected, and secure during tough times.
WACO
Advocacy Center for Crime Victims & Children
This center provides a safe haven and comprehensive support for survivors of crime, abuse, and trauma. With counseling, advocacy, and crisis intervention, they empower children and adults to heal while guiding them toward safety, stability, and hope.
EOAC Waco
EOAC Waco (Economic Opportunities Advancement Corporation) helps families achieve self-sufficiency through programs like Head Start, housing services, and utility assistance. Their work uplifts the community by giving people the tools and resources they need to build a stronger future.
